I was offered expert installation by Home Depot trained, qualified, and certified employees. What showed up were two latinos who were subcontractors to a hispanic owned siding and roofing company. The work order was not provided, the Home Depot Home Services foreman did not show up and the two men left after only 4 hours of work. The workmen were told to "take everything off" so they proceeded to tear off the underlay, which was not in the work order. When I asked why I was told they were told to "take everything off". Their employer, Not Home Depot, could not provide a work order when he arrived with the trash trailer.  He called the Home Depot Foreman and was told a work description would be provided.

As a result I had to buy seven sheets of OSB to replace the underlay at a cost of $78, which was not part of the contract. The sheet was cut 1/2" too short giving a gap at the vertical corner of the chimney housing, which the workman covered with Tyvek. I called the HD Home Services foreman and demanded he come to the site. Two hours later he shows up. I cut the Tyvek to show the gap through which you could see the inside insulation bat. He asked what was wrong?! I was disgusted that he thought sheathing with 1/2" gap is acceptable. He asked what I wanted done. Since it would delay and cost me more sheathing expense I asked him to at least seal the gap with foam. He drove off and 30 minutes later returned with door and window seal which he instructed the workman to use to seal the gap. I pointed out they were not taping the Tyvek, which is not proper, violates the application instructions of DuPont, and voids the Tyvek warranty.

He directed the workmen to tape all seams. He also admitted that all window edges should be taped, but failed to instruct his "expert HD qualified and certified installers". As a result, the taping was only done when he was present and stopped when he left. I had to tape most of the seams and the few windows and doors I could get to while these installers were hanging siding as quickly as possible. Outside power outlets were taken apart and not properly returned to service, light fixtures were destroyed, sideways gashes in siding were used to slide over railing fasteners and over-sized holes cut to make quick installation over the railing connections to the house. Half the number of nails needed were used, and the nailing distance was twice that recommended by the siding maker. Bright common nails were used to nail pressure treated wood around garage frames. I demanded they use hot dip galv. nails, they refused and continued to nail bright common box nails.  I followed with ceramic coated decking screws so when the nails rusted through the framing wouldn't collapse.

Mitres were cut sloppily so the corners protruded beyond the frames. Nails that bent were driven in sideways rather than remove and renail.  Three inch galvanized nails were used to fasten the Tyvek sheeting which was applied in 35mph winds by only two men on ladders.  I was forced to help to keep the sheeting from pulling them off the ladders.  I provided roofing collared nails to hold the sheeting in place, which they declined because they were too busy to do the job right.  One dayworker was brought in the next day.  He spoke no english and was sullen and did not take direction.  His work was erratic, sloppy, and very unprofessional. The foreman was Brazilian but spoke very good english and while he was skilled, he worked too quickly to take the time to do the job right, instead he got siding up as fast as possible regardless of appearance. J-channel runs were to long and left in place. Electrical boxes were disassembled and parts throw around and lost.  Gutter downspouts were thrown around and twisted apart when they were screwed together toprevent wind damage.  See the images provided to get an appreciation of the chaos.  I had to reassemble outside electrical fixtures to get them properly in code.

Trash was left in the yard, cups and debries strewn about.  The pile of debries was taken to the trash trailer on the third day when the boss showed up and directed the cleanup of the jobsite.  I collected about 5lbs of nails from the work area and driveway, where they had been allowed to fall and not swept daily.

But I highly doubt that would care less.  This company is s**t, the workers are treated like crap for minimum wage, worked to exhaustion and on top of that yelled and belittled in front of customers.

Speak to an Attorney asap - because although they "say" they pride thereselves on customer service they do not.  Good luck and fight back - hiring illegals is against the law in all states but never checked.
