Home Depot ripoff, fraudulent guarantees, dishonest, lazy, unreliable, uncommunicative, takes your money, ducks out on responsibility Parker Colorado

My husband and I bought carpet and pad (top of the line) to carpet our entire house from Home Depot (Parker, Colorado) in August, 2004. Almost immediately there were many problems with the pad. We notified Home Depot and they said it was not their problem (SODDI defense) even though we bought this through Home Depot. We were referred to the pad store and they concluded that this was indeed a very defective pad.

They want to replace or refund the price but Home Depot wants us to have the carpet compromised by re-installing. This is not an option, as we paid for new carpet and went through this whole installation before and do not trust their installation of now used carpet.

We have been treated very badly for complaining and were finally offered a $500.00 gift certificate from the store - as though we would ever shop there again. We want the carpet and defective pad removed with a full refund - but the store manager will not talk to us. He has refused certified letters, will not return phone calls and not see us in person even though we have went to the store many times. He evidently does not make appointments, either. We need Mr. Scott Perry to climb out from under his desk and talk to us like a business person or at least an adult and make arrangements to pick up his inferior products. I have now sent another certified Letter of Demand to arrange a time but do not have high expectations of this company or their employees to do the right thing by their customers.
