Definate crook ran staright to bank with my money same day didnt even begin work for 10 days later and only worked for 2 hours never heard from again.

Donny Don Benedict is the worst

AUTHOR: Chris - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

This "man", regardless of what he calls his company will do his best to take your money and run. His work is so bad, that repairing it will most likely  require more money than I paid him in the first place - over $8000 to remodel a bath and bedroom.

He levels insults when he is criticized, thinks everything, including it seems showing up, is an "upgrade" that costs extra.

He will walk out on you without a second thought.

He is, or has been working under Xtreme Custom Home Remodeling, Extreme Custom Home Remodeling, and Custom Home Remodeling and others. He has removed his latest website, but he doesnt seem to know that the pages are cached, history showing the lies he puts on his site.

The BBB has an Alert status for him.

He has no license or business registration from the State of Texas or Dallas that I could find.

He is a snake that calls himself a Christian. Run from him but keep him out of your house and out of your wallet. Your house and wallet will thank you.

Only A Good Experience

AUTHOR: Milan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 06, 2009

I wanted to comment on this report, simply because my experience with Donny Benedict and Retroplex Contractors was quite the opposite. It was only a good experience. He and his workers are very professional. They are timely, polite, hard-working, efficient, and they do an excellent job. Mr. Benedict was very pleasant to work with and not only will I seek his help in the future, but I will also recommend him to anyone looking for a respectable company who needs any remodeling work done. He completes the task at hand, he does the job well, and he follows up to ensure you are satisfied with his work.

In regards to the "unfinished bathroom" claim

AUTHOR: Retroplex Contractors - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 09, 2009

The entire time I conducted business with this customer I always made sure everything was done the way they specifically asked. Nothing was completed witout their express approval. I have a statement that was signed by the wife of the couple saying the work was completed to their satisfaction. Once I saw their comment on this site, I called back on 02/06/09 to double check with them and make sure they were satisfied with the work that was done. I never want a customer to be unsatisfied with any work we do....They had an issue with the grouting, so I offered to have someone come out on Monday 02/09/09 to re-grout and fix the problem to their liking. They agreed that Monday would be fine and that there was no other problem with their bathroom or the service they received. They were actually glad that I called and wanted to make sure they were satisfied with the services they had received up to this point.

As far as the comments left in regards to my personality or mentality. I pride myself on conducting business in a professional manner. Never would I have raised my voice at somone whom I'm conducting business with, especially a client. I am a firm person, but also practical and respectful at all times. I also would never leave a client unsatisfied with the services they received, which was why I called back to double check that they were happy with their bathroom and offered to come back out to correct the issue they had. Mind you when we completed their bathroom they had no complaints and loved it.... what changed their minds I'm not sure...but I did what I thought was right by calling to check on them and offering to fix the problem. We guaranty all work we do and pride ourselves on customer service.

If anyone has any questions in regards to this issue or the services we provide please feel free to contact us at donny@retroplexcontractors.com

Thanks!

Went out of the way and still not happy!

AUTHOR: Ilibowbow - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 09, 2009

I was very concerned when I read this report of my company for we strive to be the most professional remodeling business in the area.

The accusations are false. I have a signed contract with them that said that the work was done to their satisfaction. The customer changed their minds on what the wanted 3 times and I worked around it. The husband tore stuff off the wall and I went ahead and redid it to meet their satisfaction. They still have a 200.00 unpaid bill and that is what this is all about. I even tried to contact them after I read this to see what the problem was and they refused. I try to please all of my customers but this is one that just could not be pleased even by going out of my way for them.

I have a list of references for anyone who would like to have them and also pictures available for customers to see the professional work we do. If you need any more information feel free to call me at 214-412-6747. If you know of any way to collect money from people like this let me know also.

My website is www.retroplexcustomremodeling.com
There are pics available at the website also.

Retroplex Custom Home Remodeling - Donny Benedict

AUTHOR: Greeneyes2u2003 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 09, 2009

After numerous attempts to contact Mr. Benedict and my final threat of a law suit on his voice mail he agreed to finish my bathroom. During the time that his employee was here, which was only 8 to 10 hours total, Mr. Benedict stopped by and made the comment that I had the wrong tile to do the job, although it was the same tile I had on 2 previous occasions he was at my home before the work ever started, most companies would have gone over all this with me prior to collecting money or agreeing to do the job, I think he just wanted my money at whatever cost. After completion I paid him the remaining balance in cash, plus an extra sum he requested and waited patiently for him to return and seal the grout he placed on the tile. I believe 3 weeks went by and the grout was washing away from the base of the tub and my husband was just about to regrout and seal the tub himself and Mr. Benedict called to ask if everything was ok, at which time I explained the situation and also explained that the job was not done correctly, the tile was placed unevenly, it was not built up to be level and that I had another company come out and they stated that was the worse job they had ever seen. Mr. Benedict began screaming so loudly at my husband that I heard him across the room, his only concern was that we remove our report from this site and he refused to make good on this job, my husband just remained calm and stated that we were not going to lie or be threatened into not telling the truth. He then proceeded to call back and leave a message on my recorder calling me nasty, retarded and a deadbeat customer, and referred to my husband as a "boy". He said that he covered his basis by having me sign a work order stating acknowledgement of satisfactory completion, but the problem with that is that I signed it the day I gave him my deposit on 1/6/09 not the day he completed the job on 1/17/09. I have his employees signature on the same work order 1/17/09 the day I paid him in full plus more and proof of my signature being the day he collected my first payment by check. I should have known he was shady when he demanded only cash, no credit cards, the homeowner is protected that way, also the fact that he does not include his address on his correspondence (work orders, business cards, etc.). We are now going to have to pay someone to redo our bathroom which is going to consist of purchasing new supplies and labor or live with the constant reminder of the worst experience I have ever had with a professional business owner. During one of the conversations we had before he agreed to finish my bathroom he stated that he deals with "people like me everyday", and I dont know about you but that tells me he is the one with the issue of satisfying his customers. The next day 2/8/09 Mr. Benedict called and left another message stating that he had been going through his records and that he came across an invoice where we still owed him additional money, not true.

After numerous uncomfortable conversations with Mr. Benedict and my final threat of a law suit he agreed to finish my bathroom, and I have to admit at this point I was just anxious to do so and be rid of him because he definately has a mental problem. Benedict called to ask if everything was ok, at which time I explained the situation and also explained that the job was not done correctly, the tile was placed unevenly, it was not built up to be level and that I had another, well I shouldn't say another professional because that would be saying that Mr. Benedict is a professional and that is definately not the case, come out and they stated that was the worse job they had ever seen! Mr. Benedict began screaming so loudly at my husband that I heard him across the room, his only concern was that we remove our report from this site and he refused to make good on this job. He then proceeded to call back and leave a message on my recorder calling me nasty, retarded and a deadbeat customer, and referred to my husband as a "boy". During one of the conversations we had before he agreed to finish my bathroom he stated that he deals with "people like me everyday", and I dont know about you but that tells me he is the one with the problem and I am not alone.
