A GMAC Company Refused my payments, then started foreclosure proceedings! Ripoff Dallas Texas

My loan was sold to Homecomings Financial and it has been a nightmare ever since. I fell behind and contacted them to see what I needed to do in the meantime while I was catching up my mortgage. They sent me a packet to fill out, saying they wanted to work with me, but I never heard anything after returning it, I think it was just their way of getting more information from me.
Regardless, I kept mailing my payments, only to have them returned, undeposited, saying they couldn't accept the payments and would only accept an amount that was supposed to cover "their" fees, which was in excess of 13,000.00, if I had money like that would I be behind on my mortgage? Anyway, they continued a total of 3 times to return my payments and then sent information from themselves and their "friendly" attorney saying they were beginning foreclosure proceedings.

The only thing I can do is work out an "agreement" with them that forces me to pay an additional $500.00 a month in addition to my regular mortgage payment for at least a year to cover their legal expenses, which couldn't have been much considering I've only received a letter.
I have contacted them multiple times to get basic information, like a breakdown of those fees, where the money is going and even an exact payoff amount so I could try to sell my home to get out from under it, they won't provide any of those things to me. Even though I've been trying to make the additional payment to them (while of course falling behind on all of my other bills) I get no statements, no records, no nothing except for them to tell me I am still technically in foreclosure and if I miss one of these additional $500.00 payments, they will procede immediately.

Of course they know because of the financial situation I am in, I can't continue to pay them this extra fee every month, let alone what they continue to hike my regular payment up to. I am a single Mother with two young daughter's and hate to lose my home. I worked very hard to obtain it and have worked very hard to keep it, but I am drowning in the situation they have me in and these people don't care. Every time I call I talk to a different person and they all tell me something different. One even told me that if I sold my house, which I can't do when they won't even give me a payoff, and it is short what I owe, I can do a "short sale" and it won't affect my credit, which I later found out was simply not true.

I've seen on the website I am one of many, many people in this situation with this company. I don't understand why someone doesn't stop them from robbing people the way they do. If you fall behind and I was only behind 45 days...they refuse your payments, which makes you look even further behind, hire attorneys to run up fees, add those to your mortgage and basically bury you, so that there is no way you can recover.

I am in the process of trying to find a good real estate attorney willing to look at my case, if anyone has any other information they are willing to share I will be eternally grateful!
