Homeland Security - Monitronics ripoff fraudulent ripoff business Casselberry Florida

On May 23,2003 this company was canvasing my neighborhood to "give away" a security system. They said they had heard that my neighborhood had had several breakins recently and that they were giving away 3 systems in my area.

I signed the papers that day and they were to come out the day after Memorial Day to install the system. I decided to cancel the contract and had signed a paper that said I had until Wed. May 28,2003 at midnight to send this paper in.

I called the number on the Notice of Cancellation form. The address was 536 Ellrose Ct Frederick, MD 21703 (301)846-9992.
The number was changed to (301)428-4900. When I called it the man on the phone questioned me about why I wanted to cancel.

After continually telling him I did not want the system, he said that I should mail the Notice of Cancellation in and that my checks would be shredded on May 27,2003. When asked how would I know if they were actually going to be shredded I was told that I would just have to take his word for it.

I decided to hand deliver the notice of cancellation. I drove to 536 Ellrose Ct in Frederick, MD. To my surprise I found a townhome community and this address actually was not occupied. It had a lockbox on the door.

I then called the MD phone number again and spoke with the same gentleman who was evasive about where he was located. When asked if it was an office building he said yes. I then told him that was not true because I was standing outside the address.

He then gave me a new address in Germantown and said he has recently moved. (13113 Briarcliff Terr., Germantown, MD 20874)
I drove there and no one was home.

The Florida office told me I did not need to mail the cancellation but the man in Maryland called and told me I did.
I am planning to mail the notice to all three addressed, Germantown, Frederick, and Florida.
