We may have been ripped off by Sheraton Homes. We bought a mobile home in April 2007 and have not received the Statement of Ownership and Location nor the warranty repairs. And they still have to install the Hardy Plank skirting we ordered.
The quality of the Legacy Home has been a big disappointment. For the price we paid, we did not expect much, but the basics have been sorely lacking. For example, in July 2007 we received a $800.00 water bill due to defects with the home. The only way to receive any action from Sheraton is to directly confront Pat Kennedy and she will promise anything, but not follow through.
Sheraton Homes has now shut down their website and the email addresses are no longer working.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and The Manufactured Housing Division (MHD) of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
If someone wants to contact me, send an email (((ROR removed because of security purposes)))

I'm curious as to whether your problem has been remedied. I was reading through OCCUPATIONS CODE
SUBTITLE C. REGULATION OF CERTAIN TYPES OF HOUSING AND BUILDINGS
CHAPTER 1201. MANUFACTURED HOUSING
SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1201.207. ISSUANCE OF STATEMENT OF OWNERSHIP AND
LOCATION.
And found the following which may be of interest to you:
1201.206. APPLICATION FOR ISSUANCE OF STATEMENT OF
OWNERSHIP AND LOCATION.
(c) Not later than the 30th day after the date of the retail
sale, the retailer shall provide to the department the completed
application for the issuance of a statement of ownership and
location.................... 1201.207. ISSUANCE OF STATEMENT OF OWNERSHIP AND
LOCATION. (a) The department shall process any completed
application for the issuance of a statement of ownership and
location not later than the 15th working day after the date the
application is received by the department.
So, according to this, you should have had your paperwork back months ago.
I sincerely hope you don't need this information and that all is well.

I missed the part about your company pulling the website. LOL, I got a big kick out of that.
I talked to the state inspector today and we are going to wait on the inspection until after next week. But, he did call them today to find out when and if Sheraton filed the Statement of Ownership and Location. The inspector did say it takes the State of Texas months to process that paper work, but all I needed from Sheraton was a copy of the filing and when they did it.
As you know, they will not communicate with a consumer unless pressed hard. The funny thing is, it was another Legacy dealer that referred us to Sheraton because Sheraton had the exact unit we were looking for. I think I will contact the other dealer and let him know what he is referring his customers to.
I sent a note to Ripoff.com and asked how victims of a company can contact each other, but I have not received a reply, yet. I don't want to have to resort to the classified ads.

Hope you aren't holding your breath. I have spoken with 2 people who have worked with this woman in the past. She has been cheating lying and screwing folks over, including her own coworkers, for years and years. And I've seen, personally while visiting at her office in Greenville, how she responds to state pressure. It seems about the only threat that will get her attention and action.
I'm sure you have learned to check very very very carefully before you let her off the hook with the state. Be absolutely positive she has resolved your complaint and that any materials used are exactly what you paid for.
Wish I could tell you the inside story on what is going on from my end because it's going to get very interesting shortly. When it happens you can be sure I'll post an update.
Again, I wish you the best in dealing with this snake.

Sheraton Homes has responded that they will schedule the requested repairs for next week and that they have filed the proper papers with the state of TX. I will report back when the repairs have or have not been completed.
For Larry in California, do you work for for Sheraton? If you don't have any skin in the game why are you misrepresenting my report? You are confusing two totally different reports. And, I did not say that I had filed reports with federal agencies, only the BBB and the state of TX.

Larry, this person is yet another Sheraton Homes victim, not me.
To the fellow victim of Pat Kennedy and Sheraton Homes. You have my complete sympathy! Pat Kennedy will promise anything and provide nothing. I do hope you have filed complaints with the Texas Attorney General and the state bureau that licenses manufactured home dealers. Have you contacted an attorney? I hope you have better luck getting her license pulled than I did. This woman needs to be put out of business and I'm hoping we will be able to do just that, at the very least.
BTW, her website no longer exists because my company was her web designer/host. After we began legal proceedings against Kennedy, and with the blessing of my attorney, I pulled her website and notified her of same.
I wish you the very best in your pursuit of this woman.

How about the truth for once?

Ten days prior to filing this report, someone using the same name and city as you filed a Ripoff Report claiming that Pat Kennedy, Sheraton Homes, and Wells Fargo Bank had ripped them off. See ripoffreport.com/reports/0/267/ripoff0267478.htm
In your first report, you claimed that you borrowed $150,000 from Wells Fargo, paid it to Sheraton Homes and Pat Kennedy, and that the money disappeared and no home was delivered. You also claimed that you had filed complaints with numerous state and federal agencies.
Now you are claiming that you actually purchased a home from the same parties 6 months ago and apparently are living in it.
When one compares the two reports, they appear to conflict with one another. Could you please explain why these conflicts exist?
