Hometown America, Redwood Estates mail tampering, invasion of privacy and intimidation Chicago Illinois

Hometown America bought Redwood Estates, the mobile home park I reside in approximately 5 years ago. Since the purchase they issued an 18 page Guidelines for Living which included such ludicrous rules as "even in a fenced yard, pets must be on a leash when outside." This made it quite difficult to play ball with my dogs or play with my dogs at all. The management has changed numerous times since Hometown America has arrived, but the most recent management team, Pam and Dan, no last names are ever given, or printed under the signatures on their notices. They are not currently listed on the Redwood Estates page.
During the past year I contracted to have some improvements done on my home. I was travelling quite a bit for my job, and this would be a good time to get the work done in my Master Bedroom bathroom and kitchen. I also allowed a pregnant friend to stay with me to care for my pets and collect my mail. I received a notice that she had to have a background check, and be on the lease in order to reside there. I related she was a guest and was helping me, and I obtained the papers for the background check. I also understand that she visited the pool one day and when two children were in danger in the pool, jumped in to save them. I left the papers for her and the money for the background check. When I didn't hear anything regarding her background check one way or the other, I assumed she was approved. I was not aware until over 6 months later, that she did not go down and submit the release for the check. By this time she had her baby and had moved on to another state with relatives. What brought the issue about in the first place was with the USPS who started returning my mail.
My rent statement was returned and labeled, "moved left no forwarding address." When questioned by Pam, the manager, I told it was a mistake, I would file a complaint with the USPS, I had problems with this mail carrier previously not delivering mail when a hold order was up. I did file the complaint and received a call from a screaming irate Postal worker I can only assume was the carrier, though she stated she was the carrier's superior. She stated only those on the lease could receive mail there and my friend had told her I moved. I confronted my friend, nothing like that was said. I told her I was on the lease, why was she returning my mail and not the other 5-10 pieces I got a month for people I had never heard of before? But this is another complaint for another area. I called Pam and reminded her she received a check from me with my name and my address on the check every month. I explained that I also tried to resolve the issue with the post office, but, due to the response I received, would have to receive my mail elsewhere.
I also tried to sell my mobile home, but time after time, even with the price far below what it appraised at, prospective buyers were denied residence at the park for credit issues or "something in their background check." One was denied for a misdemeanor that occurred 5 years previous. I told prospective buyers to just apply without stating they had a specific home to buy in an effort to obtain approval. I felt it only fair to notify prospective buyers of the Guidelines for Living and they laughed and walked away, not just from buying my home, but the park as a whole.
Now I have received an eviction notice for cause, I have allowed unregistered guests to reside in the home I own without park approval. My friend left 4 months ago and the other name listed was the man I hired to make the improvements. My son lost his job and was homeless and I allowed him to move in with me. They requested a background check and said the eviction notice would not be removed without approval on his background check, that it would take about two days. I called after two days to find out their decision, she stated Angela had to do more checking. I have called every day and today it will be over a week. I doubt the background check will be approved and eviction will commence. I do not have the finances to move the home to another park, and finding one that they do not own is very limited, nor do I have the money to retain a lawyer to fight the "wrongful eviction." They know this and take advantage of this fact to remove people from the park and place Hometown America homes on the spaces. They have an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB as they do not resolve issues fairly if they respond at all.
I will be forced to move and allow foreclosure in order to help my son and get out of the place that has aggravated my medical conditions. Hometown America is a corporation hooked on the bottom line rush and does not care if they destroy the lives of those that live there. They are more concerned with selling their homes to the immigrants, legal is questionable, than to retaining residents that have lived there for years. Be very cautious and read every thing before purchasing a home in one of their communities. If you don't mind living under rules that control your every breath this is the place for you.
