Horizon is an ABSOLUTE scam. You will be trained by a "Manager" who claims to be a successful salesman, who welcomes you into his selling territory and sings you songs of how sweet your life will be once you get your own truck and start making big money by selling mystery meat door to door.

They never technically HIRE you, and there is no base pay... they prefer to call you "self-employed" and expect you to bust your a*s creating a customer list and referring people to their website. They can- and will- fire you at anytime- while continuing to sell to YOUR customer base and hiring a new unsuspecting dope to go out and find them even more customers.

The people writing here about how Horizon Foods is legitimate and how they've become huge successes by working there are clearly high-level company employees who want to protect this nice little scam they've got going. But don't take my word for it... trust your instincts, folks. Look around the office... look at the "salesmen" who work there. Does it really look like these folks make 90K a year? Do you really believe a deal this sweet exists and no one on Planet Earth has ever heard of it? How much time, energy and unpaid workdays are you willing to waste to find out? Who pays your unemployment when they fire you at ANYTIME and take over your customer base reap money that YOU earned? They never technically hired you in the first place!

Don't be like me... avoid this scam at all costs. Every word out of their mouths is an absolute LIE, and the whole job is a waste of your time and energy. If a Horizon Foods salesman ever shows up at your door trying to sell you their junk meat, refuse to buy AND inform the poor salesman that he's being taken for a ride by an unscrupulous company. My name is Sean, I just started working for Horizon Foods last week.
Following 4 intense days of product- and sales training, and many hours
spend on the road with my sales trainer, I finally got my own truck yesterday.

2 days ago our stock was about to be replenished. A freezer truck pulled up
to our warehouse, and 5 big pallets of Horizon Food products were offloaded.

What happened then, really surprised me. Every person at the location, regardless what they were doing, immediately rushed to the warehouse, and within 10-15
minutes the 5 pallets were broken down, and the respective boxes food neatly
placed inside the large walk in freezer room.

It was as if everybody was focusing on protecting the quality of the food.
I was very impressed.

Also, during my 4 "field training" I was constantly reminded TO PROTECT THE FOOD
at all times, meaning: "Don't lave the hatch on your freezer truck open for more than a few minutes". And: "Help the customer storing the food products in their freezer asap".

I have only been with the company for a few days, and I have actually been quite
succesfull already...probabky because I BELIEVE in the company and our products.

My colleagues consists of a group of seasoned professional sales people,
some of them with 23 years in the company, and with customer relationships just as long.

Personally I fell victim of the "depression", and thought the Horizon Company would be a very nice fit for me, and I have been right so far.

I was surprised to learn that many of my colleagyes actually carry with them the KEYS to their customers houses, and they go in a replenish the customers refrigerator with food products once a month....

To me, that speaks volumes about the services of what I personally beliefe is a professional company.

I hope I will have the same opinion a couple of years down the road, and I think I will.

First of Horizon has been in business since 1979. Your family got sick from irradiated beef? You were miss handling it! I don't pay a truck charge. Why would Horizon be the only company Omaha packs for and lets use their name? And I called Omaha to verify. And I bet your beef is judged by the Chefs association as a gold label product. And let me guess no hormones or anti-biotics right? Lets see if 80% of your customers are repeat buyers. Doubt it.
