In 1986, this agency wrote up the wrong social security benefits and now cannot find the records so I can take them to court. This error was just recently brought to my attention by SSA and it cost my adult son and I thousands of dollars. I hope any potential clients of this health, mental heath, and addictions agecny will learn the differences when making a report to the Social Security Administration.

Horizon mental health

I am very concerned as to the type of "counseling" provided at the addiction center I am attending, I have read the literature given to me and its not what I am recieving, whether the group is call air group, cognitive group or whatever it always seems to be an open discussion group like they use at n.a or a.a. now I do believe the concept works for n.a and a.a but this is not the type of "counseling" I was lead to belive I would be recieveing, it seems as tho the open discussion concept is pushed during these counseling sessions but is this what the public is being told would take place ? When I asked the question "what do I do when my anxiety really acts up and I feel like smoking pot" I was told thats what a.a. and n.a are for put your question out there and I garuntee someday you will get your answer. to which I replied then why am I here? I truly believe there is some misleading information being passed to those who attend. If a.a and n.a are not concidered counseling (my counselors own words) then why is it used four times a week at every group I attend, very aggrivated..and disappointed..

Horizon Health Services

Horizon has just learned of the complaint filed by "Marsha" of Kenmore, NY regarding professional services allegedly delivered by Horizon in 1986, approximately 22 years ago. It is difficult and, in fact, impossible at this point in time to respond to a question of fact from that many years ago, except to say that we cannot respond. Additionally because of the great number of consumers that are served by Horizon in our multiple programs and the high volume of paperwork associated with each individual record, it is and has been the policy of Horizon to retain records for a period not in excess of the standard timeframe of seven years. A record from 1986 would have been destroyed 15 years ago.

Additionally, Horizon's dedicated staff are committed to addressing our consumer's concerns when they are timely brought to our attention. Unfortunately, that was not the occurrence in this case, and we are sorry that we could not respond to the satisfaction of this individual.

Horizon Health Serices

AUTHOR: Marsha - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 26, 2007

This is one of the largest health care, mental health care, and addictions programs in Buffalo, NY.

I was a client there years ago and recently learned that when a "counselor" filed for government benefits for me, they filed for the wrong Federal benefits for me. I emailed the CEO and their attorney.

I had told them that I plan on filing a lawsuit against them. Then, suddenly I was told by their attorney that they had no records on me because it had been over 7 years. The records (which I had seen before) would help my case.

The Social Sevurity Administration told me this is one of the first times they have ever heard of this type of "mistake" and it cost my adult son and I thousands of dollars over the years.

I would strongly advise any family member or consumer to thoroughly check out this facility before enlisting their "services."

Horizon Health Services in Buffalo, NY error in reporting to social sevurity and improper treatment pertaining to records

AUTHOR: Marsha - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 26, 2007

I was a client of this agency in 1986 and also another year. They all made a major big deal of giving me my records. I moved several times and did not keep them.

Mrs Fran Ganci wrote me up for the wrong government benefits and this cost my adult son and I thousands of dollars. I informed the President,
Anne Constantino and she blew me off.

I then faxed a request to their legal counsel, Mrs Carolyn Morrow for my records and told her two disabilty experts advised me to sue them and it would help if I had the records.

Now, suddenly they have a "seven year rule" and cannot produce my records. Previously I had gotten them all well after 7 years.

I am still seeking legal action against them as the Social Security administration told me they could not remember having a case so messed up for so long.

I advise potential consumers to really check this agency out before receiving services from them.
