Without getting into all of the details... it has taken over 2 months to dig a hole and patch 10 square feet of sheetrock, they stole my copy of the contract and are changing the scope of work. The first invoice had over $600 of false charges, that was for only a few days of work...

They are scam artists, they refuse to paint the walls and are not even going to replace the trim they removed and threw away.

Hire a blind homeless man, he will do a better job in less time and he will be more honest.

If you do chose to work with them, store the contracts in a vault or safety deposit box off site and I hope you have a lawyer on retainer because you will need it.

Horizon Restoration Ripped Me Off Too

AUTHOR: Nomoretellemarketers - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 02, 2013

I provided a line item list of materials for an insurance paid repair.  The insurance paid Horizon Restoration $44,000 for my condo repairs according to Troy Rudd at Superior Property Management.

My condo is only 856 sf.  My materials budget was $14- $16,000 and was to include appliances.  My list of materials were under budget by $2000 and all of it was to be purchased from Home Depot and Lowes.

Horizon had my list before the due date.  Horizon told the interior decorator they hired that all of the materials must be purchased from a design center that Horizon selected.  That is against the law by the way.

Horizon was told by the insurance company to restore my unit.  My unit was demolished to the bare studs.   I had baseboard heat and all of the copper wire they removed originally traveled from my electrical box to the six baseboard heaters.  Horizon told me that if I wanted baseboard again that there would be an up-charge because of the cost to wire for such cost more than wall heaters. They lined up some cheap little wall heaters for me to pick out.  One for each room.  It snows here and is usually between 40-60 degrees.  I said NO WAY.  The wall heaters would cost a fortune to sustain a heated room.  The walls at the time were just studs and were open for wires.

When I had access to the condo the cabinets were not the style or dark brown color I selected at Home depot.  The counter top was not the product I selected.  The flooring was not what I selected.  The bathroom was not what I selected.  There was no dishwasher installed, no refrigerator or stove purchased or installed.  There are many other things that was wrong.

Then I wrote, called, faxed, emailed them for a reason why they billed the insurance $44,000 for a breach of contract deal.  I was ripped off.  There is no way that my materials cost the total of my budget.

Then they dragged their feet on the whole project and took months longer than they should have.  They were the slowest company.  They should have had at least two shifts and they didn't.  After all there were 32 families homeless without temporary housing. It took them 18 months to complete and they billed over $2,000,000 for the project.  It should have been less than half of that.

Then they attempted to sue the condo owners and listed my property at the top of their lawsuit to possess it.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY EVER.  THEY RIPPED US OFF ON MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS.
