My wife found her dream horse in Germany earlier this year and after vet checks, x-rays, lots of time, money, and waiting we were ready to bring "Forlando" home. We were contacted by Bastian Schroder of Transworld Equine or TWE or Horseflight.com it was never made clear to us what company he was with, who said he got the order to ship our horse overseas.  We did not really have a say in the matter and since it was our first time doing this, we went along.  The seller recommended him, and he seemed professional, but boy were we wrong.

I was first required to give a deposit by wire transfer of $6500 for the shipment, to make sure I could secure a space on the next available flight. Reluctantly we did this, as my wife was excited, and we were told this was normal procedure for new clients...

We were then informed Mr Schroder's Dutch partner hired a local vet to draw the samples needed for the pre-import testing. The vet had to return and redo the testing two additional times because the samples got lost in route to the lab, not to mention we already had these tests done in one of our many vet checks when deciding to buy the horse, but no one bothered to check that out.  Inevitably, the horses's flight was then delayed because the results were not finalized in time for the original flight.

We were then informed we were responsible for additional boarding charges, because the horse missed its flight.  Hello, it was my fault?  I did not take the blood or loose it on the way to the lab.....  No apologies or solutions offered by Mr. Schroder other then, we must pay additional boarding fees or miss the next scheduled flight.  Irrate we agreed and just wanted to get the horse on a flight and onto our farm.

Then the big day comes, and the horse finally arrives in the USA where it does 3 days of Quarantine.  We were given no notification our horse arrived, or how he was etc....  We only received a phone call 1 hour before he was to be delivered by a truck driver delivering him...  The horse was delivered to our trainer's stables, and what to my and my wife's wondering eyes appear, the horse she did buy and ride, but in quite poor condition.  He was very skinny, and had a number of "Superficial" cuts on all of his legs, and head.  My wife starting crying, her trainer's mouth gapped open, and my iphone came out of my pocket so fast I thought I was dialing 911.  After leaving 5 messages, 3 hours later, I got a phone call back from someone at Mr. Schroder's office.  I told her about the situation, and she informed me the horse did have a "Bad flight" and she thought Bastian had told me about that.  I told her I was infuriated, appalled, and demanded to speak to Bastian at once.  We were never contacted when the horse left or arrived, we got a d**n text message said he landed from a number we did not know, with no other response or info, and only found out about his delivery 1 hour before.  This girl assured me that was not the case.  I told her I needed to speak with Bastian, and was informed he was in Germany for 4-6 days looking for horses, and she would see if she could get a hold of him...

After another $750 in vet bills to treat the cuts, and 2 days Mr. Schroder decided to call me back...  Needless to say the conversation was less then positive nor was anything resolved.  Bastian claimed he left messages for me, I did not get, and that our horse was a "Bad Shipper" and everyone told us he needed to come in extra space to avoid these problems.  All propaganda and lies....  I could go on and on, but I hope you get the picture....  We do not recommend this agency...
