Hotwire Fraud

I am a frequent traveler and have been burned by Hotwire in the past. Unfortunately, I am not one to learn from past mistakes and decided to use hotwire to rent a car for an impromptu family road trip. Like many other competing websites, Hotwire had some great deals on car rentals. 

Hotwire had a deal for a car rental that was $292 for the week. I called customer support and asked if I would be able to take the car out of state. I was promised that I would be able to take the car wherever I would like and had unlimited miles. I even spoke with a supervisor who confirmed that I would be able to take the car out of state. (This is a very important piece to the story since I was planning on taking the car OUT OF STATE)

The mistake I made is that I did not have the agent "check me out", instead I checked out via the website. Once I did this I received my confirmation for the car rental. The FIRST line of the agreement in the confirmation email....the FIRST line stated.....MAY NOT LEAVE THE STATE. Naturally this caused some frustration and I proceeded in calling customer support...10 times! Only to be hung up on and told "Tough Luck"

I was forced to do a chargeback on my credit card, and now Hotwire is fighting the chargeback stating that I agreed to their terms. The issue is I would not have agreed had I not been told by a rep and a manager that I would be allowed to leave the state with the car I wanted to rent.
