My husband and I got a loan for a vehicle back in May of 2000. The contract says payment due on 29th of every month until term of loan. We had to pay highest interest rate at 29%. In April of 2002 the company changed our payment due date to the 1st of the month. This messed us up entirely. Because our payment was so large (almost as much as our house payment). In May of 2002 all interest was finally paid off and I was now paying on principal.

From April 2002 to August 2002 speaking to numerous people because I was always 30 days late on payments because of the date switch. I received calls on a daily basis at my home Monday thru Saturday sometimes three calls a day. I would answer and speak to a different person everytime. I would explain each time about the date change and I have a contract that said payment due at end of month and that is when they would receive payment.

At this time I couldn't change my finances around to accomidate them. Each person would say they couldn't change the date back and they were doing me a favor because if they did then it would show me being another month behind.

Harrassment proceeded, calling me after 9pm at night on several occations. I changed my home phone number so they started calling me at work. The first call at work I recieved I told them I wasn't allowed personal calls at my job. Everyday for the next two weeks I received calls from a different person from Household. This is documented.

At the beginning of July I was behind may and june payments. I made arrangements to pay may and junes payments in the first two weeks of July and deffered Julys payment to get me caught up. At the end of Sept. I express mailed Aug and Sept. payment so that they would recieve by Sept. 30th which they did.

The same day that I expressed this payment I recieved a call. I called them and told them I had sent payment and they would recieve it by the following Monday which would just put me at 30 days late on Aug. payment. The man I spoke to said they weren't calling about payment they wanted to make arrangement to pick up my vehicle. He stated I was 4 months behind and they needed to reposses my vehicle.

So Julys payment was never deffered. Aug and Sept. payment had gotten there on Sept. 30th. And they were showing that Oct. was due on first when I have a contract that says not due until Oct. 29th.

On the next day I had someone at my door to pick up vehicle.

I figure that May 2002 all interest was paid and they would no longer be making any money from me so late payments were no longer excepted. They were no longer making money so they just want to sell to highest bidder that has loan from someone else and can stick me with remaining bill. And I have nothing to show for the 13,000 dollars I have paid out over the last 2 years.

And I was caught up on payments.

There problem is that you never get the same person on the phone. I probably spoke to 15 different people over the coarse of 4 months. They don't follow through with promises so there is no accountability and there is no communication within the company.
