HSBC AUTO FINANCE COMPANY WON'T CREDIT PAYMENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER Ripoff San Diego California

I refinanced an auto loan with HSBC in November of 2005. I have had multiple problems with this company, from them not crediting payments on time, calling my home 10+ times a day (but not leaving messages) when I'm even a few days past due, being unreasonable with payment arrangements, and not updating insurance information.

1) I made my last two payments through Western Union Quick Collect, which sends the funds to the company within 10 minutes after the transaction is made. Last time HSBC insisted they did not receive a payment from me even after I gave them the Quick Collect transaction number from my receipt. I just made another payment yesterday through Western Union, and again they don't show my payment.

2) I fell behind on my payments when my husband was laid-off from his job with little notice, and was out of work for nearly 8 months, a month of which was without unemployment pay, when it ran out. I asked HSBC if they could add my past due payments to the end of my loan, and just allow me to make current payments, but they said it's not allowed in my state (Ohio), which I've never heard of. They would not accept any payment arrangements other than my coming up with the money for 3 payments at once, which I had to borrow the money from a family member to pay.

3) When I'm even a few days past due on payments, HSBC will call me at home and work 10+ a day, two calls in a row, but will not leave any messages.

4) I had auto insurance with the same company for the past 6 months, but HSBC decided one month that they had no record of my insurance. I tried to update the information online through their website, but kept getting error messages. They then forced-placed insurance on my account at an additional $55 a month before my insurance company could send them proof of insurance.

I cannot wait until my auto loan is paid off so I can be through with this company.
