HSBC Mortgage Services HUD pays my mortgage every month to HSBC but HSBC reports to the credit bureas that my mortgage is past due with a $2K+ outstanding balance. This is false and they refuse to correct their repeated mistake Brandon, Florida

In June 2010 I had my fourth rotator cuff surgery. Up to this point in time my mortgage had always been on time. In July 2010 I began contacting HSBC asking for assistance because I knew at some point because of the recovery process and my inability to work I would encounter difficulty paying my mortgage. Month after month I attempted to get HSBC to provide assistance to avoid falling behind or damagning my credit. They refused to speak with me and offered only well there isnt a problem and youve always paid on time. Month after month I asked for help. But HSBC would not communicate with me.

Finally in March 2011 i wrote HSBC and informed them that i would no longer be making my mortgage payments ~ i needed them to respond to me and had contacted several mortgage companies who informed me that i needed to get HSBCs attention with adverse action. After non-payment for a few months, HSBC decided to communicate with me. The eventually offered a 6 month modification (-$100) a month.

By this time I was able to secure assistance from the HUD Emergency Homeowners Loan Program (EHLP). In this program, Hud pays a portion of the mortgage for up to two years and a maximum of $50K. In Jan. 2011 I signed my loan docs with EHLP. For the next four months I and Bank of New York Mellon spent time trying to get HSBC to provide them my mortgage electronic record. At this point in time my mortgage was once again current (effective 9/2011). HSBC refused to provide the electronic documentation to HUD!!! so that they (HSBC) could receive my mortgage payments. 

HSBC, as a condition of participating with HUD agreed to take no action against program participants and not report to the credit bureaus. Most recently I pulled my credit report and was shocked to see that that HSBC has been reporting my mortgage as at least 30 days past due with an outstanding due amount ~ they have been reporting this for at least 8 months! Additionally since May 2012 they have been sending me pre-foreclosure warning documents. When I contact them, they refuse to speak with. I have asked Bank of New York Mellon (HUDs fiscal agent) to contact HSBC. Upon doing so HSBC denied that they were sending me letters and that they were reporting to the credit agencies so I sent the documents to BNY as verification of my allegations. I simply need HSBC to correct what they have been inaccurately reporting because it has devastated my credit! No one will help and i am not sure where else to turn to get this resolved. Yes i tried to dispute it with the credit agencies but HSBC only re-affirmed that my account is past due. My credit is completely destroyed!! HSBC is just terrrible
