HSBC Retail Services One day late on never been late before account $35 fee! Carol Stream Illinois

It all started with a collection notice on an account I didn't know I was late on. I made a payment 1 day late in Feb, I was charged a late fee. I pay thur bank and didn't change the amount to inclulde the late fee, I was charged the next month too, another $35 fee and every month after that. I recieved a collection notice letting me know I owed late charges.

When I called I just thought it would be the month I was late in. ( I got out my old statements and checked in Feb I was 1 day late.) No, they said I didn't pay the min payment, so I owed them, when I asked to pay the just Feb late fee and have the rest removed, they said I owed it. Other business usually will do that, I was only late one time and only one day. They said I didn't pay the min payment for months, and will keep adding the fee to the payment.

It is now $108 over what I usually pay. I feel like I'm being ripped off. I have paid the payment on time or before every month. Now I am showing a late payment on my credit report and never was even late, just didn't pay the full amount, except one day.

Can you believe that? What good is it the try so hard to do things right, if they won't even be real. Well I will write the Company a letter. Maybe someone else will be more reasonable. Yes I did close the account, but the damage is done. Down the drain
