Hughes Net This company caused me a lot of problems. They would not let me out of my contract because I was ONE day late cancelling it . Germantown, Maryland

 In February 2012 I lost my house to a foreclosure. I had 6 more months of Hughes Net. I called and I talked to a woman and she was very nice a suspended my account for 6 months. In August 2012 I called Hughes Net and told them I was done with the service and to send me a box and I would mail them back their equipment. The woman I was talking to told me I was ONE day late calling them to cancel so I was in it for another 2 years. What? I said really you are going to charge me two years because I was one day over? She said Yes. I could not believe it. I hung up and called back and I got another person on the phone. They put me through with someone with authority and i talked to her. She resolved the whole thing with me and said she fixed it so I no longer had an account. She sent me a box to return the equipment.

I mailed the equipment back on a Monday (it took a few weeks to receive the box) and on Tuesday in the mail I received a bill for $112.48. I know they could not have received my equipment back yet so this was a bill for my service that month.
Apparently the woman I had talked to put me on a 30 day trial and I could cancel it and be out of my contract. I was NEVER told about this so I did not know I had to cancel anything or believe me I would have. I am now done with them and I have a $112.48 bill. No one will help me with this and I am frustrated with the company.

I have heard horrible things about Hughes net and I can not stress to anyone reading DO NOT involve yourself in anyway with this company. They do not care about anyone and they charge $77.00 a month. That is way more then ATT. Unfortunately where I live they were the only ones that provided internet service at the time. On top of the $77.00 a month you were only
allowed so much time on the internet a month and if you want more you had to call them and pay them $5.00. Please listen to me DO NOT use them and if you are get out fast. No one there will help you if you need anything. RUN
