The deicision to use Hughes Net and my broadband supplier had to be the worst decision I have made in my 61 years.

I disconnected my preious broadband provider because I could not undertstand their techincal support and they are in India and I don't speak their language nor they mine.

When I called and spoke to Hughes Net I was told I would speak to someone in the United States when I had a problem. I was told I could cancel my service within the first 30 days at no charge. I was not told about only being able to download 200 ? (I don't understand the measurement). I was not told they did not recommend wireless connections.

I signed up for their smallest monthly service $59.99 for the service and $20.00 a month for the equipment, for two years.

Truth - You do not speak to a person in the United States when you have a problem. I cancelled my service within the first 30 days and received an invoice for $400.00. Which I do not intend to pay and I hope they take me to court.

When I contact them about not having recieved an invoice I was advised that a written invoice would cost me $5.00. I am not paying anyone $5.00 a month to send me a bill. Hughes Net wants to just help themselves to my bank account!

I have spent more time on the phone trying to get the system to work properly than I have spent using the system. And as far as being wireless, if I wanted to be tethered to a black box I would have dial up as speed is not as importanat to me and wireless.

Customer Satisfaction/Service are not words found in the companies SOP's.

Stay away from this company.

I wrote to the President & CEO of Hughes Network and complained about the treatment I had received and asked why I should have to pay $400.00 to be treated this way.
I was contacted by the President's Customer Service Dept. William. He was helpful & professional.
The result of our conversation - I do NOT have to pay the $400.00 and they are refunding my first months service charge.
I found them to be very fair and understanding. I would highly recommend write to the the President & CEO is you have a problem. As their dealers leave a lot to be desired and are only interested in the dollar.
