Hi i was just about to exit the site and saw the recent posts.  I have seen a lot lately on Hughes.  I got into a Hughes account situation 6 months ago, and got out of the deal after being victimized by crappy service and extortion tactics.  What is happening? Why is this company not being investigated? Furthermore, why are so many people signing up for this "service".  Oh that's right they are using bait and switch tactics to sell their services.  My contract was for 2 years (I find 2 year contracts reprehensible and they should be illegal).  I was told the penalty was 400.00  After going through a similar situation with "dirty" installation  and a 150.00 installation fee, plus intermittent access, we decided to cancel.  Yes, it is a nearly 89% outsourced company which in itself is a slap in the face to every unemployed American.  So, I did the right thing and ended the contract, for support of my America and my fellow Americans who are nearly homeless because of shady companies like Hughesnet.

I can only recommend that you end the contract with them, but I wholeheartedly feel you on the fact that you are forced to use them because you have no other access to the web.  By the way, Hughesnet gets part of that stimulus money for the purpose of expanding high speed to rural areas.
