I have had several charges on my account and for awhile could not figure out why. I, then, realized that items that were paid and on the hard copy on a certain date were moving all over and some back to the bottom, after being posted on a certain date for 4-5 days. I have also noticed that usually they are placed at a point where there are not funds available causing several finance charges. I also have had several items leave pending and then disappear instead of going to hard copy and posting. I call the company and they say it is paid. The money that was subtracted in pending for the items is put back on the balance. Of course, as son as you dare to use those funds that payment amazingly appears and you are charged $37.50.

I have tried to speak with someone about this and they insist it is my misunderstanding. I was charged 6 NSF fees because of them doing this. They paid back 3 of six and still claimed it was not their fault. Then amazingly enough, I had a $50.00 balance and then deposited $70.00. I did not purchase anything. I ended up with a balance of $17.00 odd bucks. No reason. Nothing could be seen as far as debits, charges, nothing! I am going crazy at this point. Very interesting is the fact that again payments in hard copy were re-arranged and the balance that disappeared into nowhere land is close to equalling the amount given back in charges.

Even worse, is that the $70.00 deposited was not my money but someone else's so I could order a Christmas present for their grandson. Now, because of those greedy thieves he will not get it. I am not sure how they sleep at night. I want to know what can be done about this. I am sure it is their software set up to do this but I am also sure the employees know it .

No, you are not keeping a register. If you were, this would not have happened.  Anyone this defensive knows they are wrong but has to compensate somehow.  You are doomed to a life of overdrafts.

Mr. "I got it all figured out"

AUTHOR: Marie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 18, 2009

And another post that does not even apply. I keep a register. Any thing else you would like to pick apart? So your little saying doesn't apply at all.  Remember what I said about research and asking first keeps us from looking like idiots? I'll let you think about how that applies in this situation. What is hilarious here is that I am betting that no one that has posted even has Huntington for a bank or they work for Huntington or some bank, whether admitting it or not. The only people I have seen defend a bank are employees and yet here are three acting like they have been insulted personally. I am simply talking about one bank and what they have done to many people and instead of giving anything good back I am called a deadbeat, irresponsible, etc. Are you kidding? What exactly are you on here for? Hmm? I mean other than to read posts and argue with them?  Just a thought, have any of you put Huntington in the search engine and read the other posts? If not, you should, unless you plan to insult each and everyone of them personally as well. I doubt if they will care any more than I do. Time to go to work again. I find working plenty leaves less time to form opinions on things that I shouldn't be entering an opinion on anyhow. I'll let you think about how that applies to this situation as well.

Note:
If anyone has anything constructive to say, I will surely read your post. Other than that,
you won't be responded to. I don't have the time and I have more important things to do.

If you would have read their posts you would have realized they were trying to help you avoid this in the future.  Because no where in your original post or your update did you mention that you use a Register.  From everything you wrote it appears that you are relying on on-line banking.

On-Line banking was never..that is NEVER meant to be a sole or even primary method of managing your account.  While the reasons have been gone over many times before, it all comes down to it is a live at-that-moment "snapshot" of your account.  The way items are processed items can change or disappear temporarily.  But if you keep a register the only way they will disappear is if you erase them.

An old boss had a very good saying.  "People who refuse to spend the time to do something right the first time...always seem to have all of the time in the world to fix it the second time".  I'll just let you think about how that applies to this situation.

Lord, it's hard to be humble when your perfect in every way.....

Well, first I do not have the excess time to go to website like this just to see who I can argue with. I am not that miserable. I simply posted to let other individuals know they are not the only ones that have had these things happened and join those who do not have their heads buried in the sand. Also, thieves are thieves, whether they are wearing a suit or not and deserve the same results for doing it.

Goody for you that you have not had any problems. You are in the 2% who have not. Maybe you should count your blessings and tend to ""your account", now "There's a concept".

Since there seems to be difficulty understanding the post, I will clarify - once. I do not ever use money that is not there and during one period of time I had nothing in pending, nothing due to come in, and a positive balance. The next time I looked $112.00 of was gone. No debits of any kind showing and still not showing - because there was nothing to come in. Now, genius, you tell  me where it went since you know me and my account better than I do. The only thing that was changed was several items that were posted prior being changed to different dates. And yes, genius, it will change it if you place them where there is a lower balance than when it was originally taken out. And, yes, this creates deliberate overdrafts. This is the sleezy way some banks make money. Which explains why this bank has lawsuits on them out the rear.

I am sure in all your wisdom you and your bud that followed your post have an explanation for why if something is in pending for several days, it instead of going to hard copy (that is when it posts (paid)) it mysteriously disappears and is no where to be found, yet is paid (checked with the company) and for 3 days is still not showing and the money that was deducted for it in pending is back in my balance. Hmm. Must be something I did, like changing all the original post dates. :)

By the way, the money was there for absolutely everything that went through clear to hard copy, until they re-arranged the dates to make it look like they were taken out at times other than when they were originally.

I suggest you read the other posts and do some research before posting. I find you will look less like an idiot that way and not look like you website to website just to fight with people who's conversation you have no clue. I am closing this post. Have to work my 3 jobs tomorrow and STILL live pay check to pay check (may be my next post). Yep. I work 3, My daughter works 3, my one son works 20-24 hours at a time, and the other son over 16 at a time. Oh boy, sounds like a family of deadbeats to me!
Thought I'd kill 2 birdies with one stone here.

Now, expect to be flamed by the bank-hating, irresponsibility-enabling cheerleaders and sensitivity trainers (Chris, RonnyG...I'm looking in your direction...) who believe that ALL overdrafting deadbeats should be coddled and pampered so they will overdraft AGAIN...and AGAIN...and AGAIN...

why it matters where they put these mysterious amounts you keep missing.     IF you have the money there to begin with.....use the debit or a check or whatever.....then subtract that IN YOUR CHECK REGISTER NEVER TO BE USED OR SEEN AGAIN....then it wont matter how or when they post it.

Why would you chance re-spending that money?   Is it because your dont keep an accurate accounti of where you've spent what money?

I dont work for any bank
Im not rich
I live almost paycheck to paycheck
I have never overdrawn my account
I keep an accurate current upto date check register
.............and I never pay attention to when anything posts or how they may or may not re-order things.

Gosh......what in hell am I doing wrong?
