I purchased a car from this company. I got a loan approved through my credit union, and got low financing. When I went to pick up the car, they told me that I had to sign some paperwork.

The loan officer kept up a patter the whole time, asking me questions. I had a feeling that something was off- I should have paid more attention to this feeling. I ended up signing a contract to purchase the car from them, through the credit union. They charged me 3% more than my credit union offered to me.

My credit union- Southland Credit Union- did not even reveal to me that there was a "Cuddle Loan". I had never heard of this and if they had warned me, I would have known to refuse to sign the papers.

I know- the experts say to read everything you sign. I should have read at least the top part of the contract where it states the interest rate. I would have been able to determine that he was ripping me off.

Shame on you Huntington Beach Mazda!!

My brother is a used car salesman (we are not close). He says, "If you are stupid enough to get taken by me, I will rip you off"! So buyer beware!!

Every vehicle BUT ONE,I've purchased over the last 20 years or so, I've re-financed within 30 to 60 days within purchasing. The car guys will screw you over on the financing so they don't mind selling you the vehicle "for a little less" cause they're gonna make it up on the interest rate. Onedealer sold me one for "real cheap" then hits me up for 17% interest which I turned around and re-financed at 3.9%. Bought a ford one time that to qualify for the discount AND the rebate you had to finance through FMC at 7.75%. Re-financed 30 days later at 3.75%. Just make d**n sure there is no early payoff penalty AND it is written IN THE CONTRACT. One time I had a salesman tell me there was no early payoff andwhen we got to the finance office their contract said I had to hold the note for 6 months before I could pay it off OR pay 6 months worth of interest as a penalty. I'm confused about the whole deal with your credit union. IF you were approved "through your credit union", why didn't you take a purchase order or a check or a sight draft orsomething to the dealer? What does a "cuddle loan" mean and have to do with anything. They basically jacked you for 3% morecause you didn't read what you signed. I've told several finance guys to shut the f**k up, give me a calculator and let me read what I'm signing BEFORE I sign it. I've used several dealer's computers to check loanrates and available MFGrebates sites right there when buying vehicles. The best one was when I e-mailed a dealer from another dealer's computer and the second lowered my price by $5,000. Of course the first was trying to rip me off. IF the dealer is a stand up company they won't have a problem with it. There's nothing wrong with making a profit, it's just when they try and rip people off that I have a problem with them.
