My nephew recently got married in the Garden City area and this hotel accepted our reservations under a group rate.　 The reservation spanned over a group rate period and a non-group rate period.　I understood the rate difference, but was billed three times over that time period: before the group rate, during the group rate, and after the group rate.  Why couldn’t the bill be held until the entire period was over instead of three separate bills?　

My son reserved rooms and paid cash for his rooms.　 The hotel required that he have a credit or debit card for incidentals.　 The hotel charged the entire room on the debit card while taking his cash.　 They were to refund his overpayment, but not over the weekend, thereby causing his account to overdraw.　

When my son started going over his bill, I noticed I had paid more for my room, under a group rate than everyone else.　 I paid $189 while the rest of the group paid $169.　 It was not until we were discussing this that it came up.　 Then I found out that my sister and brother in law paid less per night than I did because they got a AAA discount.　 I booked my two rooms weeks before the remaining family and I mentioned the AAA discount and was told there was no discount.　 I was able to get a $40 refund credited to my credit card for the two nights, but no satisfaction for the overpayment for the other three nights.

I have attended conferences for my profession and when I stay additional nights after getting a group rate, the hotel has included the remaining days at the same rate.

For each of our complaints the staff at the Garden City location blamed corporate for all of the problems. 　It appears your company will charge as much as you can even if the amounts are inconsistent with other reservations.　 We booked with their staff, not at a discount or third party vendor.
