IBC-Hearthware, Inc. Nu Wave Web Page requires Credit Card to see prices, and Places order WITHOUT user concurrence! Libertyville Illinois

I saw their ad on TV and was curious how much the product really would cost to purchase.  To browse on their website to see real prices, you had to enter your credit card number (first sign of trouble).  I then put items in my cart (they will continually try to get you to add items).  When I clicked the review cart button, I saw that it had doubled quantities on some of these 'add-ons'.  So I changed the quantities to 1 from 2.  Then I clicked the button labled "update quantities", and up comes a screen that says "Thank you for your Order!!!"

I knew I had been had... so immediately called credit card company and canceled the card!  

The email from NuWave came immediately to thank me for my order and provided an order number.  I called them immediately after the credit card company call and ... no surprise, they claim that they don't see orders on the system until 24 hours after they are placed!  HOWEVER, there is also something else on their website small print that says that orders are shipped immediately upon order!  So, they have made it so that you CANNOT CANCEL AN ORDER!!!!!  The customer service person was quite rude.

Not long later I got a call back from the credit card company saying that NuWave/Hearthware had tried to charge my card and they (VISA) are treating it like fraud.  If I had not canceled my card within 1 minute, I would have had this crap on my doorstep ($500 worth!), and I MAY have been able to ship it back???? But if so, at my expense, and probably $100 in shipping, and I suspect a hefty restocking fee (I don't know that part for sure?).

Moral to the story is that I believe that these folks have a scam going.  And, the reviews for the product are not favorable ... a lot of failures in short periods of time.  Just Stay Away.
