 Shocked by INCREDIBLY rude service from this "company". Personally insulted, called stupid and retarded (repeatedly) plus additional profanity sprinkled in, just for a simple customer service question, and asking for a supervisor. Threatened with legal action for calling back in attempt to reach a supervisor.

Person apparently runs/owns company, and refused to give his name. Identified as "customer service manager" but also insisted that he owned the company and would never want me as a customer anyway. Went from normal phone voice to SCREAMING multiple times, very bizarre. Outraged at simple requests, hung up on several times, I tried selecting other departments in order to make a complaint, the same heavily accented person answered each one. The recording and his own identification sounded VERY much like he was saying IB*M* telecom, not IBN.

After several times, I had to ask if he was related in any way to the well known company IBM, and he screamed "N!!!!!!" as if it were so out of left field for me to mistake his accent with a very well known company with his suspiciously similiarly named company. I cannot stress enough...DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I pity the customer who tried to get any service from this man, who apparently does run it according to other complaints.

BTW, his rating on the BBB is an "F". I've never been screamed at in this manner as an innocent customer making inquiries; I kept it professional and he would just blow up calling me all kinds of names, then hang up. Normally I would not seek out a website to complain for mere rudeness, this was a WHOLE different level of outrageous, ranting, breathless screaming behavior. Scary!

I will not rewrite my initial complaint, as it is factual.

THANKFULLY, I am NOT a customer of this business, as I had called to inquire about becoming one. Luckily, I found out beforehand the level of "service" rather than later when it could have been very costly to my business.

This person, who now is talking about a "representative" in the third person just is further proof that he is deceptive, since he owns and is the tech "manager", customer service "manager", etc, since he does all the work himself, by his own admission there was no one higher in the company to whom to complain because he OWNS it. There are other complaints that back up my account.

Also, it's interesting that he claims to know how many times and from which phone numbers, because my phone number has a BLOCKED caller ID (because I do a lot of business and would have salesmen calling me all day if I was in their customer database).

Finally, to say that he did NOT use profanity and specifically the offensive word retarded is an outright, bald-faced LIE. It would be interesting to hear the recording he is offering, as I'm sure he edited out the MULITIPLE times he used that word among other profanity.

This is a weak attempt to try to restore a company who, apparently by his own inability to calmly deal with customers, even those who do not immeditately obey his orders, has received multiple complaints.

As far as the Better Business Bureau; they do not give an "F" grade to companies that do not belong to them. That would be libelous. His attempt to explain that VERY RESPECTED organization's grade is laughable.

I did not count the number of times I called, I doubt it was that many, but I DID call multiple times due to being HUNG UP ON, despite each time calmly and professionally requesting to speak to a supervisor or manager. Other times I was trying the other department options offered at the company, and he picked up the line on EVERY ONE.

In my opinion, this is a person who is very angry at losing customers due to his inability/refusal to offer professional, polite, efficient customer relations, even when things result in an issue that requires escalation.

Again, I feel sorry for anyone who does business with this man due to a bargain offered price, and then finding out later that if you have ANY issue, you will be screamed at, at TOP VOLUME for being "retarded".

This individual has filed an untruthful report.  He is claiming on this site that his name is Jim however when he called our customer service number he identified himself as John McCormick.  He provided a phone number starting with a 913 area code which is not in our database however he called us 24 times in a period of 90 minutes from two completely different numbers (not the number he identified on the phone).  Neither of these numbers belong to any of our customers.

Mr. John (apparently a fake name) asked to talk to a customer service manager.  Our representative asked for identiying information (name & phone number) and informed the caller that his call will not be forwarded to a department manager unless he is an actual customer (he can't have a complaint if he's not a customer).  Given that he had called our toll free number 24 times our representative tried to inform this abusive caller that he should stop calling unless he had a legitimate complaint (which he could not if he is not a customer).

While the representative tried to explain our company policies to Mr. John, the caller kept talking over the representative at which point the representative did have to raise his voice to get his point accross.  While the representative did this Mr. John raised his voice as he was talking over our representative.

At no time did the representative call the caller "stupid" or "retarded" or use any profane words.  A copy of the recording of this conversation is available if an email is sent to service@ibntel.com.

Our company IBNtel (International Business Network) has been in business for over 15 years.  At no time were we mistaken for being associated with either IBM or Intel or any other similar sounding company.  Our BBB rating is an "F" because we do not participate in the BBB rating program by providing responses to complaints filed with the BBB.  An increasing number of companies are taking the same approach as they see the BBB as being less and less relevant in today's marketplace.  As a result, the BBB automatically gives an "F" rating to any company that does not respond to complaints filed with them.
