We ordered a boat cover ($279.99) from this company over the phone.  We told them the make, model, length, and year of our boat.   When we received the cover it was too small.  We called Dallin in the customer service department and he emailed us a pre-paid return shipping label.  We were told they do not offer even exchanges.  Along with the label was instruction for return.  It said that if the cover was found to not be in new, and resalable condition it would be returned back to us.  We emailed telling them there was some pet hair on the cover; asking them if we should bother returning it; and telling them if they didn't credit our account, we would dispute with our credit card company.

We were told to return the cover, and that the pet hair shouldn't be a problem.  So, we returned it, only to receive an email from them saying that credit was denied and they would be returning the cover to us.  Alternatively, we could accept a partial refund, with a 25% restocking fee.

Following this, we immediately filed a dispute claim with our bank.  Our bank put a block on any transactions from this company on our account, and instructed us to refuse the shipment.

Folks, what this company is doing is illegal.  Return policies go "out the window" and are not enforceable if a company sends you something that is unusable, was not as represented, is defective, or not what you ordered.  It does not matter if the product is custom or not.

Besides, isn't it a wee bit ridiculous for anyone to expect something that is over 20 feet long and over 8 feet wide to be removed from a box without getting some dirt on it???   This company is a joke.

Our return was not due to us selecting the wrong size boat cover.  We spoke to a representative from IBoats over the telephone, told them the year, make, model and style of our boat.  We relied on IBoats to select the correct size cover for our boat.   IBoats blew it and sent the wrong cover.  The model number for the cover we received is for a completely different boat.  This was made very clear to them when we started the return process and was repeated to them in writing via email on several occasions.  We have not yet received a response from our bank regarding the disputed transaction.  We will update when results are received.

I want to thank this customer for expressing their frustration regarding their experience with iboats.com. I performed a thorough review of the situation and came to the following conclusion:

We (iboats.com) did everything we could within our power to assist the customer including the following:

1- Paying for the return shipping label (the return was due to the customer selecting the wrong size)

2- Taking the cover back even though the manufacturer of the cover will not credit us (iboats.com) back due to the

       condition it was returned in.

3- Crediting the customer back their money minus a restock fee that the manufacturer requires.

We do our very best to go above and beyond for EVERY customer and we did just that in this situation. We regret that our best efforts to work for the customer were not recognized.
