I recently spent almost $3,500 on a new desktop gaming computer from IBUYPOWER. When I recieved this order almost a month after ordering it, the power supply was used. I had not turned it on and there was so much dust in the fan of this PSU, it was worse than my old computer that sits on the floor. The clear window in the side of my case was scratched up and made it look almost abused. My heatsink was installed backwards so it was blowing the air in the opposite direction of the standard mid tower ATX air flow. On their web site, you can order a LCD thermal sensor, they installed it on the computer but connected no sensors, no fans, just the power so it lights up, that is it.

When I opened my computer, right out of the case, fans and other items were missing from the case. The graphic cards that were installed were two EVGA 8800 Ultra's and they were scratched and one had a half peeled EVGA logo sticker on it. I called to ask about these missing parts and the rude customer service rep told me that it was clearly listed on their web site that cases may very from the picture viewed on their site, it is not listed on their site anywhere. There site doesn't even make sense. When you have a computer all built and ready to place your order, look at the shipping dates. There is a estimated ship date in red next your total on the lower right. On the left there are shipping methods, even the fastest and most expensive ship date does not ship that item on the date listed by the price.

I sent them a nice email tactfully asking them about these issues with no reply. When I called to speak with them about these issues and why it took almost an entire month to ship my order, again, they told me that it was clearly posted on their web site, that it is 5-10 business days after your computer is fully assembled. Does that sound even realistic?

Customer satisfaction is ALL over ibuypower.com but everytime you call to speak to a manger, there is never on there as they will tell you. You will stay on hold for a half hour and then you get disconnected, and I got hung up on twice by two different customer service reps. To all who read this, please avoid this site. I spent three and half grand on this site for some used, half assembled gaming rig which I fear will dump out on me shortly due the used parts. Please order and build yourself or spend the extra cash and order from a good name brand company. I really got ripped off bad on this site and I can only imagine how many others have before me.

did you try getting a Refund?

AUTHOR: mitcherator - (United States of America)

personally I have had not that much trouble with IBuyPower as you have, I am on my second system with them. I have had issues with Ibuypower with my first System I got with them a hard drive went out and it took a couple weeks to get a new one and I had to wait on hold for some hours before getting hold of anyone.

However other than that I have not had as many issues, their customer service is more than willing to help if you call them and describe your issue that you had.
Personally if i were in your shoes when I got the computer in that condition I would have called them up and let them know it was not the computer that I had ordered/wanted.

All my experiences thus far with IbuyPower are pretty good there are a lot of custom computer companies out there, Ibuypower is one of the few that still provides customer service and also you could have gotten a return on your product if you chose to do so - and also they have an email option too - did you try that?

All in all I believe what you said about your computer but I would have put in more effort if i were in your shoes to get a refund, I do agree however with what you said about the order processing itself it took about 3 weeks-month I believe for them to build the system and send it to me via the mail - you do have to remember it is a completely custom computer that you are ordering and if their is not a part or when they are testing it if something goes out or wrong then they have to spend time to fix it - Ibuypower is simply another computer business out there trying to get money, however my experience with them has been positive thus far,

including the shipping process i got frequent updates in my email telling me when my system would ship out and the process a computer has to go through when they are building it from Scratch, and which stage my computer was in.

Wish you luck on your future endeavors with electronics though.
