I talk to the representative at IC systems about a collection they were trying to do on me ,I only wanted information about my case ,however the un lady like lady I talk to became increasingly hostile as the conversation went on. I did nothing to her but reply to her questions in a decent gentleman way but I guess she didn't like my answers or at least something seem to get under her skin and she became very negative and rude and continued to raise her voice until I just had to hang up on her since I was unwilling to be abused like that. I would guess since I am Spanish I am not worthy of respect at IC Systems, that is a least they only leave me guessing why I should be mistreated like that.

I also got 2 different phone calls from representatives at IC systems. One was very deceptive and manipulative and in the second phone call the lady was not rude but very incompetent, misleading and confusing.

IC Systems has been in business since 1938 but they haven't learn very much about proper business manners or giving correct and accurate information. The collection they are trying to do on me is from a crooked and dishonest orthopedic doctor, Dr. Robert Burke who belongs to the Fondren Orthopedic Group out of the Houston,Texas area. Dr. Burke seem to choose an equally dishonest and corrupt collection agency to represent him. At this point I am in the process of contesting both IC Systems and Fondren Orthopedic Group.

ignore this above.   Get them on tape.   National association of Consumer advocates might take your case on a contingency basis.   Let them make their threats.  Keep a log of calls.  Take digital pictures of call received from caller id.

You need to demand Debt validation against them.  research this.  In fact file a complaint with the attorney General of the state they are in and in your state.  Do not give them bank information.
Now there is a site called Debtorboards.   It is a (com)  Put the two together and you got the web address.

Debtorsboard does not charge you and its free.  They have people that will give you advise on how to handle these dirtbag clowns.

DO NOT PAY THEM.  DEMAND PROOF OF DEBT.     Which they do not have.  Also file a complaint against them with Federal Trade Commission. and Consumer financial protection bureau.  This a new agency with the Federal government.

You have options.  Ignore the dirtbags and tape them and file complaints.  Take with a NACA lawyer.   They are the best.   They got me 3,000 from Unifund.

Do not be scared of them.  Monitor your circuit court for suits.  They sometimes do sewer service to get a default judgment.  Sewer service is where they serve an old address or lie about service.  You don't know about it and they get their judgment.  so monitor it.  Be proactive and be involved in going after them for threats etc.  Learn your rights under the Debt collection protection act. 

Good luck and keep your chain up.  by the way I am not an attorney.  I can only tell you what I know. 

To the lowlife dirtbags.  You are the real clowns.   So go climb back under the rock you came out of.
People like you will get it all back at some point.

Very aggressive collections agency

I have had to deal with this company myself and I must say, their tactics seem quite counterproductive. I have had to deal with quite a lot of collections agencies and this one is definitely the most aggressive, rude, and borderline abusive. They really think screaming and being mean to you will put you in a good mood to pull out your wallet and make a payment.

I see the comments calling you a deadbeat and that you need to be an adult and pay the debt. Well sometimes things happen in your life where you simply cannot, despite your best intentions, like major health problems. I told the rep on the phone that I would have money in a month and he said that was unacceptable, I needed it right now this second. And he didn't just want a little, he wanted over $500 right now. I'm sorry but with that all or nothing attitude mixed with the fact that I really do not have much money, you're not getting anything. I have a few creditors that are very easy to work with and they're currently getting monthly payments from me. But someone who screams at me and demands $500? Sorry but they go to the bottom of the priority list.

One last thing: let's not forget how these collections agencies got into this situation: they bought all the bad accounts from banks like HSBC. They knew going in that the accounts were bad, and they were able to get those accounts at quite a discount as a result. So to act like the consumer screwed them over is false - these companies actually paid money for your unpayable debt.

With the way the economy is headed these days, collections is probably the last industry you'd want to be in. Paying off old debt is the last thing on anyone's mind.

I would recommend just waiting until the account gets sold to a more respectable company that doesn't scream at people. At that point start making your payments.

IC is God andother scumsucker IC collectors need to be unemployed!

Charles, not only do they abuse debtors, but they refuse to acccept payment arrangements people can afford and they try to collecton uncollectable debts.

On a debt from my ICU stay in 2007, the doctor did not file with my insurance company in a timely manner.  This was despite my giving him the correct insruance information numerous times.  Anyway, after more than two years of this back and forth, the insurance companynow won't pay, saying that since the doctor didn't file his claim in a timelymanner, they won't pay and I am not responsible.  It took over an hour of arguing to get these alleged humans to dispute this bill.

They also have another bill froma procedure I had done in 2008,yet I received no correspondence until I got a letter from IC Systems in August 2009.  They seemed shocked sinceI wanted verification of the debt, which they actually did send.  However, there were quite a few things wrong with what they sent me.

1. My birthdate is NOT FEBRUARY 2!  Yet they insist it is.  It is actually February 20.  You'd think I'd know when I was born.

2. The diagnosis on the records they sent me was wrong- I never had diverticulitis nor was I ever diagnopsed with it.

3. I do not go by the name Cooper-Kreger.  When I got married in 2000,I went through the legal process to change my name to Kreger, my husband's surname.

I agreed to  make a payment arrangement as long as they allowed me to contact my personal physician and see what information he gave them.  These sub-humans wanted to mark this as refusalto pay but I was not refusing to pay. I did agree to a payment arrangement as long as I could do this because so much basic information they gave me was wrong.

When I indicated that I could only pay $30 a month since I am out of work (laid off in July), they said I could send the money, but what I was sending was insufficient and collection efforts would continue.  I told them I know they have a job to do,but if this ever went before a judge, they would be laughed out of court once I showed I was making an effort to pay and was judgment proof.   I declared bankruptcy in 2003, so obviously I have no assets, and unemployment is not seizable by any garnishment order in New York except for child support and taxes, and I owe neither.

IC is God is scum just like the rest of the collectors that work there who suggested I either borrow from my parents, who are both dead, or raid my 401k, which is frozen until I get another job.

I refuse to take this abuse

I refuse to take this abuse from john any longer his has completely turn my complaints & words around to make it look like I am in the wrong. John is the one who misleads people on this site & leaves abusive comments.

I have asked me many times to quit posting to me & he has continued to post to me this is called (harassment). I do not know john nor does he know me he does this to everybody who files complaints on this site.

He does not know my situation or other peoples to make any judgements he does not know me yet he continues to post slanderous comments about me. I do not have to take this kind of abuse from him or anyone else.

He bullies people to quit pursuing agaisnt the bullies. if people don't give into him he post slanderous lies about him, well I am not giving up He can post has many lies he can about me.

John Is the one who misleads people everyone knows buy know john protects these bad businesses he harasses & personally attacks people to keep quiet, well I refuse to keep queit.

He says people lie about businesses well how does he know like he does not know me. I just would like to say john has alot of nerve to say the things he says to me & other posters on this site, he does not care about consumer rights.

Why do these collectors like to use caps, ripoff report clearly states do not use caps. This shows there pure ignorance. I would tell them go ahead & place it on my credit files.

When these abusive collectors speak to me like this I am not paying nothing I tell them go ahead & place it on my credit files.

Nobody talks to me like that & except me to pay anything, they can threaten legal action, & threaten to take me to court all they feel like. I will not lose any sleep over it.

If I don't have the money for it I don't, so there scare tactics don't scare me.

I need to add that IC System also broke the law in my case ,they failed to send me a notice in the mail about my collection before they started their phone campaign of calling me at home .Seems rather arrogant that IC Systems knows all about using the law to full advantage to benefit their own business and put all kinds of pressures on people with that law.Yet they act like that they themselves are to good to have to obey the law ,like they are some kind of superior beings .
