ICON Health & Fitness Nordictrack TRL 625 design flaw ripoff Logan Utah

The NordicTrack TRL 625 Recumbent Cycle has a design flaw and ICON Health & Fitness, the warranty company for NordicTrack will not acknowledge such a problem.

In January 2003 I purchased the exercise cycle. After using it 4 times, it broke. The Pulley wheel detached from the crank and made a horrific grinding noise. All tension was lost and the pedals spun freely. I called ICON and because all parts were not in stock it took several weeks for the Pulley wheel and crank to arrive at my residence. The company ICON uses to fix the bike arrived a week later and replaced the parts.

After using the bike twice, it broke again! exhibiting the same symptoms. I was extremely upset to say the least. This bike cost 400 bucks and was supposed to be made by a reputable company. I contacted Sears and told them to come get this piece of junk and give me my money back. They counter offered putting together another TRL 625 model and delivering that to my house and taking the old one. I agreed.

The bike arrived and I used it for about 3 weeks and it did the same thing. I called Sears and told them I want my money back. I dropped the piece of junk off and got my money back. What a nightmare. I will no longer use NordicTrack or any other product Icon warrants.

I did learn that Sears was very cooperative and treated me well through the whole ordeal.

NordicTrack and ICON better get their act together!
