Investigation has uncovered that ID Watchdog uses this bogus Company First Universal Platinum to issue $7500.00 credit towards buying stuff on their website where you must pay more than half the amunt for merchandise then apply the $7500.00 credit towards the balance.

It appears that First Universal Platinum will enroll you in its sister company ID Watchdog at $19.95 per month unless you call them to cancell within 7 days you are considered signed up with their service. It appears Id Watchdog intiates this credit offer sister company to create a id theft situation where ID Watchdog comes to the rescue. Not a very good business move and Illegal.

First Universal Platinum list an address as: 4894 W. Lone Mountain Rd. Suite# 128 Las Vegas, Nevada. 89130
Investigation into this address reveals with the City of Las Vagas that this business name is not registered with the City nor at that Address related to the name.

Furthur Investigation reveals that on First Universal Platinum website it list's Global Gold Inc a Nevada Corporation as its owner but when contacted they never heard of First Universal Platinum. Interesting all the same, If you have been targeted by these Companies please contact us to join the Class Action.

Unauthorized charge by ID Watchdog

AUTHOR: Charmagne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 19, 2009

I posted my complaint here:
(((ROR redacted)))

This is what is what is posted:
ID Watchdog. How ironic.
I was charged $19.95 for "PERSONAL MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES" from "WDI PROCESSING". Creepy right?
Turns out WDI Processing is ID Watchdog's alternative company name used to charge your credit card. Why the need to cover up their true identity if they are offering such a noble service?
After many phone calls and being on hold for over 40mins in total with ID Watchdog, I got my service canceled.
Scouring the internet I also found that many more people have similar complaints. Many are in even worse situations. I'm glad this is over, or so I believe, but I am being proactive about this. I am sharing my story with everyone who would care. I hope my complaint on this board reaches people in need. This is an extremely good reason why the internet needs to remain free.

This is my response to the above comments by defenders and victims:
ID Watchdog is supposed to be a LEADER in preventing identity theft. If they did pair up with an illegitimate company, they shouldn't be a leader, nor should they be trusted. They should do their homework. I have zero faith in them.

Are you kidding?

ID Watchdog may be a legit company, but if they are pairing up with rip-off cons then they won't be for long. I do not believe that they have severed the relationship since I'm still getting charges from the companies listed in this report....including ID Watchdog...even after repeated requests for them to STOP and refund my money.

If you want to defend them then I suggest you also take responsibility for getting my money back to me.....or else shut UP!

#1 UPDATE Employee

This is not true. ID Watchdog is an excellent service, and not a scam.

AUTHOR: Toney - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 08, 2009

It is true that, for a time, ID Watchdog co-marketed with a (perhaps less-than-reputable) company that packaged a credit card with ID Watchdog identity theft protection services.

Consumers who signed up for this card were notified that they were also getting a 30-day free trial of identity theft monitoring and protection.
Consumers who did not cancel their service within 30 days of opening their account were charged the monthly monitoring fee.

While it was never illegal, this marketing program no longer exists.

ID Watchdog, however, does still very much exist. It is the most comprehensive identity theft protection and resolution service available.

As a small company trying to grow in a competitive environment, the management may have been tempted into a marketing practice that promised easy, mass results. As I have stated, the collaboration with the credit card company identified in the complaint no longer exists.

I do not understand all of the specifics of the circumstance that was outlined. It sounds unfortunate, and I apologize for the frustration.

When people sign up for ID Watchdog identity theft protection, the company takes steps to verify the identity of the new member before beginning monitoring for signs of identity tampering. The service is structured to protect people, not to victimize them.
