I live in an apartment complex and I came home it was very foggy. There is no sign that says handicapped in front of the parking places. I did not realize I had parked partly in the handicapped and part in a regular space.

They towed my car from the apartments and they do not have a contract with the new company that has taken over the apartment complex. The name on the sheet they said authorized this does not even work for this company.

They were very rude and made me provide proof of insurance even though I had my registration because they said that is proof of ownership.

So You are Admitting Fault

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 18, 2010

If you are aware that the sign has been missing for some time, then that must also mean that you KNEW it was a Handicap spot and parked there anyway. Have you checked with the new owners, if the contract was still valid with the prior owners it very easily could have transferred with the sale of the property.

sounds like you are looking for someine to blame cause you got caught being lazy and taking advantage.

THERE IS NO SIGN!

AUTHOR: beentheregottook - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 16, 2010

There is no sign in the front of where you park I have lived here for over a year and it has been gone for months  so call it what you want if you say it is there it is a lie! I have pictures to prove this and no Ideal did not have a contract with the apartment complex. They may have with the previous owners but they do not and did not with the ones who have it now.

dear handicapped parking violator

AUTHOR: Happy in Houston - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 16, 2010

All of the tows performed by Ideal towing are recoreded by 6 video cameras as well as still photos are taken.

All pictures clearly show violation.

Ideal towing does not tow from any property that it does not curretly have an agreement with.

Ideal towing does not require any form of identification, because Ideal towing does not store the vehicle.

The rude person you spoke with must have been with the storage lot, and the reason they needed to see your insurance is veery understandable, they must insure that the vehicle being picked up is not given to the wrong person. Also it is state law that before the vehicle can be returned the vehicle must be legal, and proof that legal insurance covers the vehicle.

Legal Tow

AUTHOR: towman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Ideal Towing in fact have a contract as required by law to tow vehicles that are illegally parked in this apartment complex and any apartment complex we do business with.  Furthermore, there is and has been a sign clearly posted in front of the parking space indicating the space is a handicapped space, as required by law.  As stated in the complaint, it is unfortunate that this individual did not realize parking illegally in a handicapped parking and so admits fault, however that is in no way the fault of Ideal Towing.  The true question here is,  how would this individual like it if he or a family member were fact handicapped, and came home only to see, for whatever reason, an illegal and non-considerate individual parked in his state delegated space?
