In July of 2005 I ordered buy 1 SingerLaser vacumn get 1 free from a televison commercial, shipping and handling included. I was also suppose to receive a free steamer. When I listened to the voice recording at IGIA I ordered the deluxe steamer plus an extra set of filters. On July 24 my mastercard was charged $590.06.

I called the company right away just to find out that they were sending me not 2 vacumns but 4. The woman by the name of Gail that I spoke with said she would rectify it seeing that the vacumns had not been shipped. I checked my mastercard frequently and I even called them but they told me that seeing it was going to be rectified to be patient.

I called the company again and was able to get through to find out when my vacumns were being shipped because I was suppose to have them within 4 weeks of purchase, however they did not know when my mastercard was going to be credited.

Finally in October, 3 months later I received the vacumns but to my dismay there were 4 not 2 vacumns. I also did NOT receive the steamer or extra filters that I had been charged. I called the company they gave me the address to ship the vacumns back. I insured them and got a tracking number.

I returned 2 of the vacumns on October 21,2005. I called the company just after I sent back the vacumns because FED -EX had billed me for shipping and handling charges. I was told to fax the bill to the company by a customer representative and I would be credited. When I tried to fax it to the company with the number IGIA had provided to me the post office informed me that there was no such fax number that it was not acceptable.

Fed-Ex has sent me another bill demanding $90.00 out of me for the handling and duty charges of the 4 vacumns. I feel that it's unfair that I should have to pay seeing that according to the commercial shipping and handling charges are included. Also I believe that IGIA should also inform Canadian clients that there is an extra charge of duty and handling within Canada.

According to IGIA I would be refunded within 2 weeks after receiving vacumns back, still no refund, they have had their vacumns since the first week of November

I still haven't received my deluxe steamer and extra filters I have been charged for. According to a male customer service representive I should have received those items back in the beginning of November.

I have included a copy of the e-mail that IGIA has sent me 4 times so far, and so far no one has responded. When you call their 1-800-709-2216 number you get a voice recording thanking you for your patience that someone will be with you shortly. I have speaker phone and for over 2 weeks now I have been tying up the telephone line trying to get through to no avail. When 4:pm arrives the phone voice says thanks for calling try your call again. I guess I was just lucky the 1st couple of times.

I called the Los Angeles Consumer Affairs and I found out that in the month of November alone IGIA DIRECT has had over 25 complaints filed against them to which they have not responded.

I also found out that seeing I live in Canada Los Angeles Consumer Affairs cannot help me. Seeing that I purchased the items through the states Canadas Consumer Affairs cannot help me either.

REFUND almost a YEAR after being Ripped OFF..Perseverance Pays off

AUTHOR: Debbie - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, June 17, 2006

Attention Everyone who has been ripped off by either IGIA. Laser Storm, Tactia, Singer any vacumn cleaner.

I never gave up. I would read other rip off reports to see if anyone had been refunded and I would try those phone numbers to see if I would get a response and finally succeeded 2 days ago when I received a check for my FULL REFUND.

For those of you who have a phone plan this is the best number for you to call 212-575-5050 ask for Monica make sure you have your order number or reference number with your information.

For any vacumns that you have been ripped off with and you can't seem to get a response try these toll free numbers 1-800-716- 8667 or 1-800-711-8357.

This were the numbers that I called and I finally got to speak to a very nice woman who gave me the corporate office phone number which is the 212 number above she even told me who to ask for but that woman no longer worked there and I was transferred over to Monica.

One thing I hope all of you's will realize is that no matter where you ordered your vacumn from whether it be California, New York etc. all the information goes to the New York Corporate Office. Don't give up try those toll free numbers or the 212 number and you will hopefully get your refund back.

All the best.

IGIA moved from WORTH St. Don't ship vacumns there, Can someone help

AUTHOR: Debbie - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, December 12, 2005

well like a sucker after receiving 4 vacumns and having faith in mankind, and being fortunate enough to talk to someone from IGIA who gave me shipping instructions so I could get so called refund back(what a joke) out $356.00 plus shipping. I could have had central vac for petes sake for what it's costing me.

Off topic there for a second so I apologize, IGIA moved there location some other person wrote it in also but seeing I put a tracking number on the vacumns I was able to find out that the U.S postal service redirected my vacumns to another location.

All the postal worker was able to inform me was that it was not at 4540 Worth St. Los Angeles, they had moved somewhere else in L.A. and the zipcode was 90040 instead of 90063.

I also wrote to response@stormvac.com and still no one has replied back. I tried calling their 1-800 number but at the present time the phone lines are down. Does anyone have suggestions?

MasterCard will not help

AUTHOR: Debbie - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, December 10, 2005

After reading several testimonials of how the ripoff report book works I decided to give my mastercard company another try.

I informed them of how I called their company(mastercard) and how I tried and tried to get my money back to no avail and would they please help.

Mastercard informed me that I should have read the back of my statement where it clearly reads only 110 days to file a dispute on my behalf.

I was lucky and got to speak to a supervisor, however he made it perfectly clear that there was nothing he could do that I should have filed a dispute when I didn't receive the credit after 30 days of returning the vacumns.

He did mention that I get ahold of someone from Toronto, that supposedly helps those who have gotten the shaft from a company.

I did tell the supervisor that when a customer calls and finds out that they have been overcharged on their account that the customer service representative for mastercard should inform the customer that they have so many days in which to file a dispute.

If I would have known this...guaranteed mastercard would have disputed this on my behalf. I have e-mailed the so called company to find out if they do handle matters like this. I won't hold my breath but wait and see,.

No E-Mails returned, No one answers the phone

AUTHOR: Debbie - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, December 09, 2005

I forgot to mention in my report that I should have refunded to my MasterCard $256.85 that is if I would have gotten my whole order.

Seeing that there was items missing that I was charged for an additional$40.00 for the steamer, plus $17.00 for the filters.

I almost forgot the paid shipping and handling charges of$40.00.
I should have also been refunded $90.00 for Fed_ex for duty and shipping within Canada.

If I had my way for all of my time and effort...refund me everything back because the vacumns do not live up to their expectations.

If you have a heavy carpet...forget it...It sucks and I don't mean picking up the dirt. The canister fills to fast your always having to empty it. If you haven't ordered the extra filters the dirt doesn't seem to want to get off the filters.
