Questions/Comments:
My complaint involves Fraud and Misrepresentation done to me by a
company
located in Dallas, Texas and their representatives. The Companys
name is
IGNITE and the specific representative of this company is Cory
Holliman, a
Texas resident.
I am a single father raising my two children and live in Florida. I
am
also disabled and my income from Social Security is less than $700 per
month. Because I am disabled and am must stay at home most of the
time, I
have attempted to supplement my income by marketing various products
on
the Internet, such as a digital telephone service (VoIP) and other
products. Cory Holliman contacted me through my website and told me
he
had tried to market VoIP, it was too much work selling the service,
and he
had something much better. In an email marked (exhibit one) which I
will
forward by regular mail, he says I am doing well with what I think
is the
next best thing to market since bottled water-ELECTRICITY.
Cory Holliman made the following representations to me, which upon my
subsequent investigation found to be untrue:
1. Ignite was operating in TX but was soon to open many other states
to
market both electricity and gas.he emailed me a map entitled
Deregulated
USA and told me the following states would open this year:
FL,NY,ME,VT,NH, RI, MA,NJ,MD,DE,MI,OH,IL,OR,AZ . And I could be on
the
ground floor in FL which was scheduled to open in Aug or Sept.
(exhibit
2)
2. If I signed up and paid $329 he would personally put other
representatives (recruits) and customers under me that would qualify
me
for a $200 bonus in June, he faxed a copy of the company promotion
(exhibit 3). None of this happened after I paid my money.
3. When no representatives or customers as promised showed up, I
called
and emailed him several times, his response was finally he had been
very
busy signing up 40 new people and many customers by going door to
door,
but it was going to take two weeks for those customers to show up
because
of a rule change by the company. (exhibit 4) As of 6/30 nothing
has
been placed under me, reps or customers. I contacted over 100 people
myself spending 100-150 hours on the phone and computer as potential
reps
or customers for FL and elsewhere.
4. When I finally called Ignite, their representative told me they
were
not opening in Fl or any of the other States this year. When I made a
complaint about this, their representative Cindy Conwell sent me an
email
6/28 saying I could get a full refund, less any commissions paid out,
only
after I had talked to Cory Holliman concerning my position. I was
given a
6/30 deadline. (exhibit 5).
5. All the information given to me by Cory Holliman has been false,
and
all the promises made by phone and in his emails concerning putting
other
representatives and customers under me to qualify me for the
$200 bonus
and other commissions have proven to be untrue. I am not going to
spend
more time and money calling Cory Holliman.
6. My bank informed me Ignite has now debited my account on 6/28 for
an
additional $19.95 as a monthly charge for a website for July after I
told
Company Representative Cindy Conwell I wanted my money back and was
not
investing any more time and money with Ignite. (exhibit 6)
I spent $200 to consult an attorney this week to see if he could get
my
money back. He spent over an hour reviewing my documentation, looking
at
their website and calling the company. He was also told they were not
opening up Fl or the other States. He said he would have to charge me
about $2,000 to take the case and knowing I did not have the money
suggested I file complaints with the Attorney Generals office, FL or
TX or
both. He said it looked like they were an illegal pyramid
operation and
consumer fraud is handled by AGs in most states. He advised me not
to
spend any more time or money contacting Cory Holliman or the Company.
The
fact they were going to subtract any commissions paid to Cory from any
refund was proof they were paying for recruiting making them an
illegal
company. He said my complaint to you would probably get me refunds
for
money paid and other costs incurred, plus could help others from being
victimized. I am out of pocket over $600 at this point, plus hundreds
of
hours of work on the phone and phone expense to get nearly 40 people
lined
up to work this business.. I desperately need to get this money back
to
pay my bills.
If you can provide me a mailing address, I will send you a signed copy
of
this complaint and all the exhibits, plus an itemization of what this
has
cost me.

You got Scammed

AUTHOR: All Professional Era - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Unfortunately most Ignite spammers which are everywhere there is a something negatively said about ignite, typically have the same things to say to anyone arguing. Usually that you are at fault if your an associate, because you didnt work so you didnt profit. That Ignite/Stream as companies make a lot of money. That its a legit MLM because they sell electric. That there are a whole lot of articles proving it's legit.

etc etc... they all say the same things. But one thing you never hear is your wrong because I'm in the company and I made a ton of money. They dont even understand how the companies even work, and they dont understand that the guys who started the company and the guys who own Stream are the only ones in the top %1 and continuing to make that money.

In your case you got scammed by an ignite associate, who also violated the even a shifty company like Ignite's rules. The reason why most of the igniters who responded to this are looking like robots is because they just went straight to the cards like robots with their responses. This is the first and crucial problem with this company and why they get sucked into the a scheme like this.

Because most other legit companies representatives would have actually read your story and realized that you actually did get scammed. Basically in a nut shell you were in need of money, a guy calls you up doesnt give you the proper details about how the company works but gives you granduer aspect of the company and tells you he's gathering customers so you dont even have to do anything except wait for him to contact you. Basically he conned you out of money to help his "team". I guarantee you he has a decent reputation among his local peers because he's probably conning a lot of people like that, which the whole point of ignite is to get more associates. Because associates have to pay that $300 and switch their electric. To stream and ignite as a company this is genius but also just the basic pyramid.

I'll explain.

Stream does not have an actual energy company, they may have some minor stuff in texas but still they are not like real energy companies. Stream is basically a middle man and Ignite is the pyramid sales division. Stream is basically a retailer of electric they dont own any electric plants, repair services, towers, or really anything related to an energy company. What they do have is wholesale electric that is they buy electric from power companies in "chunks" at a cheaper by quatity price. The reason he said they were coming to your state and they never came is because the state never deregulated and subsidized their electric companies.

So basically new, out of state, or independent power companies or retailers are allowed nor exist in the state. So that means no retailers like stream. If anyone wants to dispute that even igniters than simply go to an ignite representatives website and tell me what it says about what to do if your a customer and there are issues with your power, it usually says to call the main power provider for the area not stream. You will never see a Stream energy repair truck and maintenance guy, you will never see a stream energy power plant etc etc the only thing you will ever see is a ignite associate.

Now Ignite all they do is pay the company money and mainly get more people to become associates, getting more regular customers takes a back seat because actually getting power customers doesnt make them any real money. What they fail to realize is where the pyramid aspect comes in, well look at it like this.

Stream came first then Ignite everything funnels back to stream, The actuall electric customers payments, the associates startup fees including their latter "teams" fees, all the various company fees including paying to attend "events", paying for company speakers, etc etc. When an associate pays the initial fee they dont get anything for paying that fee, the only thing they get is the right to get more associates under them and so on under the ignite name. They dont make any even mentionable comission off actual electric sales, they make commission off of signing more people up under them and those people under those "pyramid".

Why is this a pyramid because the reality is that Stream is not paying them really anything at all, they are just collecting money from everyone, the associates are paying eachother their startup fees but giving the majority to stream. The only actual money Stream is paying to anyone is the few dollars from the electric sales. Most of the money paid at any level of the company just finds its way all they way back to the top.

The real issue is that when there are no longer any people interested in joinging the the money well dries up for the associates, and while some may make a little chunk of change before that happens there is 0 job security most people can not work in ignite for years to come because there is no repeat customers, its one and done, until your tree cant branch out anymore. BUT for stream they still make money off the retail electric even if ignite stops making money which is why its genius but still a pryamid.

So in the end you do have a case not so much against the company but the individual and dont worry about the igniter rebuttals most of them are new to the company and will learn in time.

This is not Ignite, it sounds like you were ripped off by a scammer.

AUTHOR: Jamesofalltrades - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 02, 2009

I am an Indipendant Associate of the Ignite organization, and so far everything I have found indicates that Ignite is a very strong and honest company. In reality, Stream Energy, the parent company of Ignite, is the fastest growing company in World History! That cannot happen if you are running a scam.

I have heard nothing about plans to move into Florida, though I have heard we are moving into other states. I do appologize to you sir for injustice done to you by the inscrupulous individual who conned you out of your money.

The truth is, if Stream Energy is available in your area, and you have at least 10 people who love you enough to help you on the road to independance, and three people who think they can repeat what you have done, you should go for this. It could change your life, it has worked for many people and I am working toward making it work for me.

If anyone contacts you telling you that Stream is coming to any area outside of Georgia or Texas, beware. Wait for an official Corporate Release stating both the intent to capture a new state, and a date it is actually going to happen.

Once again, I am very sorry you had a bad experience and I wish you the best of luck in your resolution.

Hard to believe sorry for your situation but just dont ad up.

AUTHOR: Michael Beisner - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 06, 2009

i am sorry for your situation but many things don,t ad up. First I am currently doing investigation into this program. Stream for short is reg. with the states in which they operate and in some that thay have not began operation. their refund policies are plan, and procedures are plan as well. the fact that you talked with potential customer for over 150 hours and not set up one seems odd unles you talked to only one person. sales is numbers and 150 hours on the phone someone I would dare to say many would have bought what ever you were selling. I would be interested to know your closing ratio on anything you have promoted.

as far as comments of play to pay senerio contracted employes pay all the time. this company is nitching their position in the deregulated market of energy. Once was controlled by a few now many could benefit. the fact that everyone uses either gas or electric or both makes this a very attractive opp. The mistake I believe is being made is they are offering or allowing people with no proven work ethic or sucess history to participate at all. This is good as many who have never had a chance will succeed but some will not because of unresponsible post like this one. Again know your situation is poor but take responsibility for it and change it. If it was someone elses fault so be it . most of us are exactly where we deserve to be. The facts as I see are clear. this company has been check out by the power that be and has been granted permission to be a marketer of energy in the state.which by the way is highly restricted.

In these states the product energy is being sold the facts are you are entitled to share in the wealth of the market if you have the ability to do so.

As for the comment of the $329.00 charge that does help promote the company granted the revenue is used granted. But the college degree my profession required was alot more than $329.00 cost to at least participate in the opp. This is like green fees everyone helps pay for the advancements created by those before them.

Hopefully you can continue to do this but if you cannot sell a discounted product to someone who is currently using the product maybe you should consider another field of work. also to invest almost 50% of your monthly income was probabaly not a prudent thing to do.
Any one can feel free to contact me with I . I do feel sorry for your situation but also for the person who wont take the chance because of posts like these. I know I am pretty hard but that is the problem with this country hey it is what it is deal with it .

I am not currently involved with this company but my inspection of the op is it is a great chance to benefit from something that everyone uses. good luck but the failer of this program is not all their fault. take some blame. and be thank full you where not discriminated against and given the opp.

Stream / Ignite No Fraud - Media & Business' recognizes them as Legitimate!

AUTHOR: Friend Of Domhoff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 05, 2008

Hey Friends,

Stream/Ignite Growing Bigger, Faster & Stronger. The Business World is taking Notice! If they were a fraud, scam or ripoff, would they not be derailed by law-enforcement? Would they not be persecuted by State Attorneys? Would not the media or consumer reports have tarred and feathered them by now? How then could they ever get licensed in three states to do business?

For those people that claim Stream Energy and its marketing arm Ignite, Inc. is a Pyramid Scheme, Scam, Fraud or Ripoff? You need to read the following easy to research information on this unique company.

Stream Energy & Ignite, Inc. have been featured in many positive investigative consumer reports. Among them is the Feb.6, 2006 report by Belo Broadcasting's WFAA Channel 8 News out of Dallas, Texas and the June 18, 2008, KTRK-ABC Channel 13 Eyewitness News out of Houston, Texas as well as other consumer reports from many other television and radio news stations around Texas. (If it were true, would not these respective News Agencies report that Stream/Ignite was a ripoff?)

Stream Energy & Ignite have been featured in the March, 2006 issue of D-Magazine, with honest and fact based journalism, projecting Stream to be the fastest growing company in the United States, if not the world! D-Magazine also covered Stream's unique marketing approach with Ignite, Inc. (If it were true, would not D-Magazine report that Stream/Ignite was a ripoff?)

Stream & Ignite have had several positive business write-ups in the business section of the Pulitzer Prize winning Dallas Morning News city paper through-out 2006 & 2007. (If it were true, would not the Dallas Morning News report that Stream/Ignite was a scam/ripoff?)

Stream & Ignite have had featured cover stories with Direct Selling News (DSN) in Feb. 2007 edition and the Feb. 2007 & Jan. 2008 edition of Empower Magazine. All magazine covers shared the incredible success of Stream/Ignites marketing plan as a model for others to follow. (If it were true, would not these Magazine's report that Stream/Ignite was a scheme?)

Ignite is currently a pending member of the Direct Selling Association. The DSA is one of the toughest organizations to become a member of. The DSA only allows honest, ethical and sound business' to be apart of their organization and the application process is one of the most grueling for its industry! (If it were true, would not the DSA Board Members reject Stream/Ignite's application if the company was a ripoff?)

In October, 2007 the Dallas Chamber of Commerce awarded Stream/Ignite with its Dallas Commerce Momentum Award. The award was presented by Chamber Board Member and former Dallas Cowboy QB, Roger Staubach. The award was given to Stream/Ignite co-founders Rob Snyder and Chris Domhoff, both of whom were present at the ceremony. (I'm almost positive the Dallas Chamber of Commerce does not hand these awards out to pyramid schemes).

Stream/Ignite was also nominated in Oct. 2007 as one of 10 finalists from around the world for the prestigious Platts Global Energy Award. Although Stream did not win the award, Stream is very honored for the nomination and hopes to be again soon. (Platts would never nominate a pyramid scheme for this award)

Stream/Ignite was featured in Jan. 2008, as a cover story in the Dallas Business Journal. The featured article reported on the viability of Stream Energy as a world class company, breaking records in the energy industry and featured the sound structure of its marketing arm Ignite, Inc. The Dallas Business Journal is one of the most respected news journals in the Southwestern United States. (The Dallas Business Journal would never have published such an article on a Scam!)

In May of 2008, Stream Energy/Ignite was one of only two companies from the United States to receive the top awards from the annual Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Industry ceremonies held this year at the G-Force event in Berlin, Germany. (Genesys would never hand this award out to a pyramid scheme).

In June, 2008 the Ernst & Young Southwest Region Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Services is given to Stream Energy founder/CEO Rob Snyder of Dallas, Texas. The Entrepreneur of the Year program, created in 1986 by Ernst & Young, recognizes the pioneers and innovators who excel at growing and sustaining market-leading businesses. Past award winners have been Michael Dell of Dell Computers, Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner of Broadcast.com, Norman Brinker of Brinker International and H. Ross Perot of Perot Systems. (Ernst & Young would never give such an award to a CEO of a pyramid scheme, ripoff or scam)

Finally, do the Texas Public Utilities Commission (PUCT), the Georgia Public Service Commission (GPSC) and the Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO) certify and license known scam's/ripoff's in their respective states for business operations? No they do not! (Stream's Texas License - #10104, Stream's Georgia Certificate - #GM-38 and Stream's Ohio Certificate # 08-133)

All of the above information is researchable and open for investigation. Stream Energy and it's marketing arm Ignite, Inc. are legitimate, legal and ethically run and well respected business operations smashing all services, commerce and financial records across the USA, if not the world.

Spammed and Scammed

AUTHOR: Ron - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 03, 2008

I sure hope that Stream Energy terminated the director agreement that he had with them because he did three things that were against their policies. He spammed you, he guaranteed income. and he said that he is going door to door to collect customers. All of which are strictly prohibited. I really think you would have a better chance of going after the guy that scammed you that going after Stream. Stream is very above board and you won't get anywhere trying to sue them. Go after the guy that scamemd you. Chances are that he can't afford a lawyer now if he has been terminated.

Please for those of you out there that receive any unsolicited emails of phone calls from anyone representing Stream or Ignite, report them immediately to the Public Service Commission of the state you are in. Make sure you get there full name. You can even go to there website and call the Stream Energy customer service and report them. Email me if you need more information on Ignite and Stream Energy. I love it and went into this with full expectations that I, not my up-line, not my down line would have to work hard to be successful. If I work hard at it and help me down line succeed then they will pass it on.

I have recently gone onboard with Ignite and have not experienced any misrepresentation, whatsoever.

AUTHOR: Diane - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 03, 2008

Donald, first I would like to apologize to you for any misrepresentation you may have experienced from an Ignite representative. This is NOT what Ignite is all about. This is NOT what I have experienced at all. In fact, my experience has been quite the opposite from yours.

I have experienced a very encouraging, credible and ethical minded group of people, some deeply spiritual, who got on board with Ignite because of the knowledge that this is company is a once in a lifetime opportunity, enabling so many of us to change the lives of thousands. I have experienced Ignite being the totally opposite of a "me-me-me" mindset. In fact, my experience with Ignite's "Simple Business Plan" is all about an Associate coming in to the business to build a business, ensuring their Associates the same success if not moreso than my own. It is unfortunate that you have not experienced the same, most especially because of your limitations.

I, too, am disabled but I am no longer homebound. Because of my disability, I immediately connected with your homebound situation. In my recent past, I was homebound and in a wheelchair for quite a long while. Fortunately, for me, my health has turned around considerably, enabling me to get out of the home. However, my physical condition is limited to what I can physically do outside of my home.

I don't know if you are still considered an Ignite Associate or if you have already received a refund from Ignite ... I am fairly new but I believe, through the grace of God, I will do quite well in this business. I do not know Cory Holliman and would like to contact him, myself; if you have his contact information, I can give him a call. And if you are still associated with Ignite, I would be more than happy to help you with whatever it is you need to get your business going with what I have to offer. I cannot make any promises, Donald - I can only TRY to make a bad situation for you better. This is MY understanding of what Ignite is all about.

I know first-hand how very difficult it is when one is incapacitated and unable to do as we use to be able to ... I think that's why God places people in our paths as He so lovingly does ... to be there to support us when we're down and to encourage us and give us hope. Ignite, for me, is an answer to many of my prayers and I intend to use my business to help others as Ignite is helping me.

Please feel free to contact me at (((ROR redacted)))

My very best regards, Donald,

CHANGE YOUR FOCUS

AUTHOR: Planetmind - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 25, 2007

1.) I feel for you and your situation; I sincerely hope things work out for you.

2.) After reading your complaint your issue is not with Ignite, but with an irresponsible Ignite Associate. Associates are like contract labor and therefore are not a direct extension of Ignite Inc. I hope they give you your money back. Your focus should be directed to the one who misinformed you, if indeed that is what happened. The issue is and your complaint should be directed to the individual not the company. The company never lied to you.

3.) I can tell you for a fact that Ignite does work. Since January I have a made over $1,500 and my first residual check last month was $88 and that's only the beginning. True, the company markets energy for Stream Gas and Electric only in Texas for now - but - there are solid plans to open up in other deregulated markets very soon. However, you don't have to be a Teaxas resident to be a part of it. Actually, there are people all over America doing the business and making it happen.

4.) I truly hope things work out for you. I'm kinda glad you sent this to the AG's office instead of suing the person responsible. It will accomplish two things: prove Ignite's not a scam - provided they investigate it - and I hope they go after the individual.

In my opinion about Ignite.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 14, 2007

Your story is a typical story of a person that wants everything spoon fed to you without you as the entrepreneur lifting a finger to succeed. You just tried to sell me your living conditions in order for me to side with you that this Ignite Company is a rip-off. And you are totally wrong. I do not see any proof from you what so ever you even applied to understand what Ignite does. This is a very unfair report and you as the reporter should be ashamed that you didn't even really investigate what you were getting into. I am sure you investigated Voip services as an affiliate before you decided to promote them. I do believe you might have had a bad representative, but he will be dealt with as time passes on, if or what you have said is true. I really do not believe that he would get you the 3 10 (Associates and customers) that is what this company is built upon. Like Amway and other similar structures that made allot of money for individuals of all backgrounds. But, we are not dealing with vitamin sales, but an actual useful service of saving money on your energy bills.

Anyway, I will not torment you on your poor presentation of Ignite without even trying to investigate them before posting, but success is what you make of it. Best wishes to you and your quality of life.

Best Regards

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 29, 2006

I just went to one of those presentations and they didn't say they would provide leads. Maybe they've changed their tactics. I am very skeptical of any multi-level operation and will look into this for you. Here's what they claimed today:

Texas market size = 12,000,000 customers
Their current market share = 250,000 customers
Total Ignite reps = 45,000
Projected FY revenues = 500,000,000
* That's 11k per rep in annual sales.
