Il Fornaio shameful and insulting waiter runs the restaurant Palo Alto California

I went to have dinner to il fornaio in palo alto, ca. The dinner was the worst of the ordeals. The food was ok, just ok. However, the service was terrible. The waiter, Carlos, a hispanc man in his thirties, was always reluctant when approached by us.

He tried to sell us the most expensive wines and dishes. At first he didn't serve us water when delivering bread and he tried to sell us mineral or sparkling. We had to wait around 10 minutes to get tap water. When my guest chose the bottle of wine, he suggested another one much more expensive saying that bussinesmen like us shouldn't be having such a bottle of wine.

Maybe, he tried to mean that we were high class people, however I felt he insulted us. Then, one of the dishes was cold and we had to ask a host to take it back to the kitchen and re-heat it. After all, when the dish came back to the table it was ok. After feeling frustrated, especially by such a comment about the wine, we decided it was time to leave the restaurant, not to come back never again.

I paid the bill with cash and I decided to leave a few bucks(just a very few, not even 7% or 8%) and I heard when the terrible waiter talked to a busser referring to us in spanish and he called us "f***ing cheap"... I don't know if my guest could hear this, I think he did not, and not to have to look even worse with him I decided to leave the restaurant without complainig.

I knew though, that after this I was going to let everyone know about this terrible and insulting situation. Now, whoever types "il fornaio" in this page, will be warned about where not to go to have dinner, unless you wanna give a terrible bad impression or you wanna make someone feel really bad. I decided to post this instead dealing with any manager at the restaurant because I know this will hurt il fornaio a lot. I don't want a stupid mangaer from il fornaio apologising with me and offering a stupid gift certificate...

What I had to tolerate days ago is not going to be repaired with a $ 50 dollar gift certificate... There will not be talking or dealing with any manager, I am sure this is gonna be worst for them...il fornaio palo alto simply sucks... don't ever go there...
