The only way I came in contact with this company was by way of looking into some free computer software.  The deal was you can get some software if you agree to "trial" one of a number other offers.

I chose ilovepets because I do loves pets, thought I would at least look into their offer to start an internet business.  What a mistake.  Evidently they got my debit card number from me when they said a kit would be mailed for only $1.97.  Problem is, they started billing me $39.95/month which I never agreed to.  In fact when I got the kit and looked at the info online and saw that was part of the deal, I immediately decided I wanted no part of it.

I had already been billed $39.95 for a month or two before I picked up on it.  I emailed the company.  They sent back a nice email and said my account was cancelled and there would be no more billing.  Even sent me one months refund.  Then they started billing me again the next month.  In fact, they billed me twice in one month.  Subsequent emails to the company have gone unanswered.

I contacted my bank.  They said they couldn't do anything about it because the company was doing this one month at a time.  It wasn't set up as an automatic draft.  The last thing I did was request a new debit card from my bank.  Hopefully that will prevent ilovepets from billing me further.  In the meantime they billed me for 7 months at $39.95/month for a total of $279.65 (Minus the $39.95 they so graciously refunded).

Billing Clarification

AUTHOR: David - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 01, 2009

I was going over my account records.  Just to be fair, I see my account was debited 6 times (not 7) for $239.70.  I was refunded one months billing.

My point is not so much about the money, but the frustration of having to deal with this company and get them to stop the billing process that I didn't agree to.  If they had stopped as they indicated they would in their email, that would have been the end of matters as far as I am concerned.  Now I just don't want anyone else to go through the same thing I've been dealing with for the past several months.
