My name is Tanya, I am 21 years old. I worked for image imports for 5 months and I am telling you it was the biggest waste of my time and effort. I went for my first time interview and it lasted ten minutes odd I thought but I saw people in and out of thje office who were very professional. I put my worries aside and when Dave Levin asked me if I would like to go on a second interview that night I was estatic.

When we went out on the interview I saw Chris Leahy selling digital camera for ten dollars. They had a fourty dollar price tag right on it and I thought wow great deal. This must be easy right? So we walk into a bar where of course a million drunk people were all over our little trinkets and I thought wow really easy. Ecspecially after the promised pay was 18 dollars an hour. I decided to keep the job becasue the opportunity breakdown promised me that I could make 100,000 dollars a year. It was to good to be true.

I started in the begining of February so picture this SNOW. We were told to think the the post office rain sleet or snow we get your crappy, broken merchendise that most people dont even want to you. I would drive my own car and put in my own gas and was told to sign a 1099 and I was self employed. HA what a scam! I was suposed to save every single reciept I recieved and I could consider it a business expense. I was also told to collect tax on everything I sold. Which would be fine if Dave Levin paid his taxes on Tuesday and Thursday. Those days he claims off every sale on his NH office and pockets our tax money. Which was amazing that he could do that to his "friends", "family", and "CoWorkers". He told my best friend who became pregnant that she should get an abortion because a career is more important. She left right after and never looked back. I should have left then also. He would have us drive and walk around in the snow, sleet, and rain.

We were told if we missed a day that we were further away from meeting our goal of making manager. Management HA. IMage Imports is a wonderful learning experience I learned more about sales and getting to know the customer and adapting to diffrent environments. I mean I walked around Easty selling things in spanish which I dont know any of. "Diez Pesos" which wiould mean ten dollars. I moved to the "Liz Clairborn" division which was selling imitation Liz Claiborn make up. ALso Sarah Ashton youve heard of her right, You knwo the make up artist from sex and the city. Ya Right. She was fake a made up name and we were told to make people look stupid for not knowing who she is. Well that is because she is imaginary and Innovage the umbrella company for image imports made her up. I do have to say I met some amazing people at that job, I met some of the nicest people ever. Most of them quit before me. They would try to get me out of it but i was brainwashed. I honestly believed that in eight months if i worked my a*s off i would be able to make manager. Dave Levin would make me feel bad about myself and like i wasnt good enough everytime i tried to quit. I would leave my house at 6 am be there by 7am and get home around 10:30 or later that night. Not only that but we were told how to scam days of observation and we were told to lie whenever possible. The company also makes you go out to dinner with them every couple of weeks and pay for ourselves. It was ridiculous. All they do is push you further and further. They dont offer health insurance and they tell you that you get the best health insurance in the world. My Best Friend who worked there got into a car accident almost died and was told she would be fired if she didnt come in the next day. She came to work the next day with glass particles in her head. She didnt have health Insurance so she didnt want to go to the hospital. Yup. She ended up working the entire day. Also there was a good friend who worked with the company. A really funny guy really sarcastic he left the company and came back a few times because his bestfriend and his bestfriends girlfriend who he lived with worked there. He got into a horrific car accident and died. many people working for the company knew him well and had known him for years. Dave Levin told everyone who knew to keep his accident quiet because he did not want anyone missing work on the day of the funeral. People being told to get abortions and losing their job because of a friends funeral, that is not somewhere I want to work. This place made my life a living hell. I hardly saw my daughter and I did things I never thought I woudl do in my life. I completly changed as a person and I am completly embarassed at the way I changed. I know it was because I was around money hungry people constantly and constant lying. I am so happy for the sales experience I gained but I am so upset at the five months of life I lost. I am now working for Tmobile I make hourly pay commision pay and I have health insurance. I get paid time off sick leave and holiday pay. I am so much happier with my life I work regular hours and I make so much more money now.

I still make my "hundred dollars gaurenteed a day" but I do it in 7 hours and I still can go home to my family and make dinner. I also dont walk home feeling like 14 hours I work a day is useless after making 15 dollars on hump day wednesday, or two for tuesdays. I can still stack merchendise on a customer and have a JUICY sale. I am definatly a much stronger person after working there, I got a tougher skin. I worked hard and I learned that it doesnt pay off with that company. I really am sorry to anyone who is offended by this im not trying to offend anybody, I am just being honest. Please dont follow in my foot steps and make my mistake.
