Beware of dealing with these fast talking high pressure sales people.

They called me and were evasive about my questions when I told them I wanted to do my due diligence.

They told me they are not a network marketing or MLM, nor a pyramid. when I asked Jay what a pyramid is, he could not tell me the legal answer. He said where only a few people at the top make money.

Wrong. The legal answer (according to the FTC) is that someone is compensated or paid for others being recruited rather than for the sale of a real product or service. Therefore, if comp is based on the sale of a product (be it a drink or a soap or products sold off a website), then it is never a pyramid - regardless if people are making money.

Second when I asked him if this was a publicly traded company, he answered that this is a national company.

That is talking apples and oranges. So I asked him again and then a third time before I told him I thought he was being evasive.

A publicly traded company means that it has stock that is traded on some index (like the NYSE or the NASDAQ). This is important because they have to make their books open to investors. You can call your financial advisor and ask for their research on the company. Private companies can keep all the numbers to themselves. There is more risk working with a private company because they don't have to make their books open to the public.

Jay finally admitted to me that this is a private company.

The yellow light went off when he told me that after I listen to a 7 minute call (I listened to half), if I signed up today I would save $100.

So I asked him that if I wanted to sleep on it, or discuss it with family and get back to him tomorrow, would it cost me $100 more. and yes, it does.

Can we say high pressure? Really high pressure?

But what really got me to write this is what happened next.

After I hung up half way into the recording (about setting up a website and marketing promotional products like pens and mugs to small businesses) he called me back. When I told him that I did not think they were a real opportunity and that I wanted them to take my name off their list - guess how he responded.

He laughed. Loud and strong. He just laughed. didn't say anything or ask me any questions.

So if you want to work with professional people, I mean real professional people, I would advise you to stay miles away from anyone who laughs loudly at your concerns and fears.

Bottom line - maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me that all the red flags are there - be very careful with this company as they seem to use speed (fast talking) and hype and pressure to get you to act right now - not tomorrow, but right now.

So you have been warned.

From someone who has been burned and has also found real businesses and real opportunities and learned what each has as far as common characteristics.

Cave Man

AUTHOR: Jacob - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 17, 2010

This ongoing conversation is close to hilarious. Nearly every posting by jsheesh has so many spelling and grammatical errors that, at times, I don't even understand his sentence or title.  When I revert back to cave-man speak, I eventually can decode them. II dude, you are a patient man.

Jsheesh, how about you use YOUR real name in this forum? C'mon! Reveal who you are !  What is your first language?

BTW, when I use the national BBB site, II comes up easily as pie.

David

WHY is Image Incentives using Smart Advertising Solutions address

AUTHOR: JSHEESH - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 25, 2008

Why is Image Incentives using Smart Advertising Solutions address if they are not affiliated?

New business(using SAS' address HMM),New owners ,new employees? Why is the owner the same person listed for SAS? Your still working there are you new? John Strummer is still there is he new? Why did you respond that it's the same company for years and now claim it's new?

Why can't we find Image Incentives on Arizona BBB as of today?
Why isn't Image Incentives registered with the City you operate in?
Why does your company have to buy peoples info and then lie that we signed up for something with your company?
Why use Smart Advertising Solutions id# if Image Incentives is a registered business name?

There's no complaints against Image Incentives because it was just registered, but you were using Image Incentives like it was a business name from 2007 when your employees were cold calling people. Check the complaints on numerous websites when websearching the phone number your employee John Strummer, Matt and others leave on peoples answering machines at homes on the DNC list, work and cell phones 480-588-0703 and see how empty that info is.

Just stating FACTS here that anyone can easily check out themselves instead of calling you and hearing only what you want them to hear.

No such listing on ArizonaBBB for Image Incentives / new employees aren't you an employee for smart advertising solutions like your previous response

AUTHOR: JSHEESH - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 13, 2008

1) No such listing on ArizonaBBB for a business called Image Incentives

2)How can it be new employees if your working there? Didn't your previous response claim your a senior executive at Smart Advertising Solutions for years?

3)Why use a business name that has no info anywhere for people to check out for themselves before calling/using your business? The BBB as well as other agencies and websites like Ripoff Report all say to check out any business/service/program before contacting/using it , so why do we have to call your buisness to find out what kind of service/program your selling and only hear what you want us to hear?

4)Why does Smart Advertising Solutions have numerous names?

5)Arizona Attorney Generals Office couldn't find any such business Image Incentives anywhere when they sent me a letter about my question to them who is Image Incentives per Pamela L. Crabtree their Legal Assistant or Shelley Hearn of City of Tempe,AZ also stating there is no such business Image Incentives registered with the City of Tempe, AZ to operate in Tempe, AZ like your employee John Strummer claimed in the 3 messages he left.

6)Why should we have to call a business that has been funded by a company who had a postcard fraud against them? Arizona Attorney Generals Office has that info when asked about Smart Advertising Solutions "anybody can check that out". Why can't anybody/agency find the info your claiming in your responses?

7) What is the company id# on ArizonaBBB for us to check out Image Incentives as a legitimate business? We should be able to find out what kind of company/program you are before calling your company , right? But all the info you've been claiming about Image Incentives in your responses cannot be found by the consumer, Arizona Attorney Generals Office and City Hall of Tempe Arizona.

8)Like the other response you made about no cold calling then how did the answering machine have John Strummer with Image Incentives in Tempe Arizona contact at (480)588-0703 get there? We never filled out anything to get info from your company so where did your company get it?

HEY DRUMMER YOU BETTER CHECK ARIZONA BBB SITE NO SUCH BUSINESS IMAGE INCENTIVE ON THEIR SITE AS OF SEPT. 12,2008

AUTHOR: JSHEESH - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 13, 2008

Your getting deeper and deeper in false claims DRUMMER you need to check Arizona BBB site there is no such company Image Incentive listed on it as of Sept.12,2008. Why would we call your business to check out what's on the Arizona BBB site when we can go directly to the Arizona BBB site ourselves and check it out? Calling your company will not tell us your company is legitimate we'll just hear what you want us to hear and that doesn't mean it's TRUE. That would be like asking a Scam Artists if his business is a Scam. HMMM call us we'll tell you we are not a SCAM.

He left 3 messages in english that states I am John Strummer with Image Incentive and to call me at (480) 588-6703 with no mention of Smart Advertising Solutions which I made a copy of each one just in case Arizona Attorney Generals Office wanted it when I talked to them about your company claiming to be Image Incentive. Oops...Wrong Again. Smart Advertising Solutions...

AUTHOR: Drummer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 12, 2008

Smart Advertising Solutions funded the developement of the Image Incentives program and has no part in the business dealings of Image Incentives. New owner, new program, new management, new employees.

When you buy our program the charge to your checking/credit card account is listed as Image Incentives. When you earn comission checks for orders processed through your website your comission checks have Image Incentives as the payee. When customers call the toll free number on our clients website's, we answer Image Incentives. The sign on the door and the name on our merchant account is Image Incentives.

It appears that all these false accusations and mis-information are getting a bit out of hand and could be taken the wrong way if we were not on top of our client relations. We would like to apologize for any false allegations presented here and look forward to explaining our business opportunity to anyone who is interested. We take a great deal of pride in our business, and love giving people the opportunity to start a legitimate home business.

Also, I do want to emphasize that Image Incentives is registered as a business in the State of Arizona, and we have 0 complaints against us with the Better Business Bureau. Again, anyone who has questions or concerns regarding Image Incentives please do not hesitate to give us a call at 800-878-0936 and we will be more than happy to help you in any way we can.

"IF" it is a quality business then why use Image Incentive instead of Smart Advertising Solutions?

AUTHOR: JSHEESH - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 11, 2008

Why is John Strummer using the name of business Image Incentive instead of the real company name Smart Advertising Solutions?
Talked to City Hall of Tempe ,AZ and Arizona Attorney Generals Office and they also never heard of Image Incentive like your employee John Strummer uses , Oh but they have heard of Smart Advertising Solutions and your postcard fraud.
How are you getting peoples info without them giving it to your company?
Then cold calling them at home which is what you claim your company doesn't do or use a company name that doesn't exist?
You just want people to call your office to pressure sell them ,it still doesn't prove your company whatever name it is today is a good business. Just by talking to Arizona Attorney Generals Office and Tempe, AZ City Hall finding out there is no such company Image Incentive that your company employee uses when cold calling people that you suspiciously got from ??? tells it all. Cold calling numbers on the Do Not Call List is I believe against the law too.

My "real" name is...

AUTHOR: Drummer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 02, 2008

My real name is not going to be volunteered on a web forum from which I could be directly contacted by thousands of people at my place of work. This would disturb the inbound call system, and cause a lot of unnecessary inbound calls. We are busy selling quality home based businesses, not wasting our time proving the value of our service. Our business sells itself, because it WORKS! I could have just given a fake name and number, but that is not how we do business at Image Incentives. I just want to let readers know that I have been with the company for over 5 years, and I find these kinds of complaints to be very empty.

Has anyone ever looked up a large companies BBB report and found no complaints? Of course not. Large companies get complaints, but it is how they are dealt with that proves legitimacy. We have a great record with all government agencies, and take a great deal of pride in our program. The reason I know this...I would not work for a company that did not have good intentions for not only it's customers, but the employees as well. Carefully read this persons words in the postings made earlier, and then compare those comments with the responses I have written, and then decide for yourself who is coming clean with their "stories".

Complaining on a popular web forum instead of doing so through a registered government office is the easy way out. If this were a legitimate concern of yours or a valid complaint we would have already solved the issue.

Like I mentioned earlier, I urge consumers to call us direct to address any concerns you have about our incredible business opportunity. 1-800-878-0936. You can ask for John Strummer or Michelle Evans, and they/or one of their account managers will help you with any questions you might have. Thank you again for your considerations regarding this rebuttal.

TRUTH VS FICTION

AUTHOR: Drummer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 04, 2008

I am a senior account manager with Smart Advertising Solutions, and have been for over 5 years. We sell a home business program called Image Incentives, and only attempt to do so with individuals who have requested to be contacted about a home based business opportunity.

This gentlemen is more focused on our represenative's knowledge of phony pyramid schemes, rather than our legitamate opportunity. If someone was trying to sell you a car, and you asked what type engine was in a Porshe (which was not on the dealers lot, and had never been on the dealers lot) and the salesman gave you a different answer than your looking for, does it mean that the dealership is a fraud? Of course not. Jay's inability to describe what a pyramid scheme is verbatum accourding to the FTC does not imply that our company is not in compliance. Jay's delay in explaining that we were a private company probably stems for the fact that he has a script with very strict guidelines as to what he can and cannot say. Like any good salesman Jay bought time until he was able to give the correct answer which was "we are a private company". We record EVERY conversation, EVERY time and would be glad to play back the audio sample at the customers request, just to make sure that he remembers the conversation as it happened.

This gentlemen is splitting hairs, and is way of the topic of the phone call with the account manager he spoke with.

We always inform our customers of the following :

- We are not MLM or Pyramid related.
- We work with Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, Bic, Sharpie, 3M and dozens of other household names.
- We have a first call offer that we extend a $100 promotional allowance discount to those that are able to get started the first time they hear our audio presentation.
- The cost to get started ranges from $195 to $395.
- We inform the customer that even though there is a first call offer incentive, there is NO pressure to get started. We only profit from the business when the customer recieves orders through their product center, or if they purchase advertising from our company. (That is why we have no desire to work with people who are impulse buyers with no intention of taking their business seriously.
- We always disclose our first and last names, location, and phone number prior to playing the audio presentation.

As to Jay's laughter I actually find that encouraging. He did not raise his voice, he did not argue, he just simply laughed because someone cooperated throught a 5 minute question and answer survey regarding their desire to start a business. This person also confirmed that he would be willing to spend at least $200 if the business was a good fit, and also agreed to have a seven minute audio presentation played. After all of this he does not have the common courtesy to remain on the line to tell Jay he was not interested. We always call back individuals who don't make it through the entire presentation because of dropped calls to cell phones (common occurrance), and accidental disconnects.

If anyone has a question regarding our program please do not hesitate to call us at 800-746-6753 ext. 4525
