On 12/19, I went to purchase new phones and upgrade my boyfriend's wireless phone plan for Christmas at the vendor. The sales clerk ("Gene") said he needed approval from my boyfriend and a fax number to send contracts for him to sign before he could. He helped me choose phones and services and told me it would be no problem to sell the phones to me for $150, with a $100 rebate, as soon as I could get my boyfriend's signature. I returned the next day with all of the information he had requested. Gene wasn't there but the owner of the store was. He refused to sell both of the phones to me. First, he showed me a report from T-Mobile that said my boyfriend's account was good and he could upgrade the plan to family and add a line for me. Then he said he couldn't upgrade it. Then, he told me the phone that I wanted to buy and add to my boyfriend's plan was $150 with a new service, not the $29.99 it was marked (isn't this bait-and-switch?). Then he said I could buy the phone, but it would have to be sent to me by T-Mobile I couldn't buy one of the ones that was stocked on the shelf behind him. He was extremely combative and rude. The owner of the store then said T-Mobile wouldn't let him upgrade my boyfriend's plan, for a reason he would not tell me. He just kept contradicting himself over and over again and implying that I was stupid because "I didn't understand" him as if my being a woman, or something, made it impossible for me to understand him. Customer after customer walked in, bought phones and left. The only woman in there making a purchase, I wasn't allowed to do so. I am really afraid of my boyfriend being a target of identity theft because they asked for his complete social security number, even though I gave them the last four digits of his social first yesterday when Gene asked for it. I am very politically active and have been gangstalked for opposing the fascist policies of this administration.

I believe, if I was not discriminated against because of my gender, that employees of T-Mobile and IN-XS Wireless have been paid to make it difficult for me to have phone service unencumbered from spyware such as that which was the subject of Congress's work against the phone companies and FCC last week.
