This company from Utah, INCOME STRATEGIES INSTITUTE puts on a free ?resentation at hotels throughout the country promoting a 3-day workshop where they claim they will teach people how to invest in Real Estate, The Stock Market and other Income Strategies. They team up with HB Products Unlimited, 5647 Wells Park Rd Ste B, West Jordan Utah, 84088, (same address for both) to trick people into getting a ?FREE? website with hosting fee's of $59.95 per month. They also team up with SUREFIRE Health & Wealth, all of which I address in this post.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! To find out why read the rest of this posting.

This is a bait & switch process because they essentially teach nothing many people can use at the 3-day workshop because they skim over it so fast. Unless a person already has some knowledge it will make little, if any, sense. This is the same technique companies like Russ Whitney, Invest Tools, Optionetics, Globaltec, all use.

Their Classes, of which there are seven plus a mentor program, are very expensive. If you sign up during the ?workshop? of course they reduce the cost. Their PRESIDENTIAL PLUS program, which includes all of them, is $29,995 at the workshop, $50,000 at their office. The PRESIDENTIAL program of six plus the mentor program is $25,995 at the workshop, $41,655 at their office. Their different ones called PLATIUM is four plus the mentor program, GOLD is two classes plus the mentor program, SILVER is one class plus the mentor program, & the BRONSE is two classes which is the cheapest at $7,995 all have corresponding savings if you sign up at the workshop.

I went home, dug out the pricing for Teach Me To Trade and Star Trader and they were almost exactly the same, which leads me to believe these are actually Russ Whitney's classes in disguise, but I don't know that for sure. Once you read the rest of my post think twice before you buy these programs. I expect you will be treated the same in the classes as I have seen in this 3 day workshop and those of Teach Me To Trade & Star Trader (Russ Whitney's 3-day workshops)

When I say trick that is exactly what they did to me, and hundreds, probably thousands, (30, 40, maybe 100 by now). They presented a program on March 28th., 2006 at the Irvine Marriott Hotel, March 29th. 2006 at the Long Beach Hilton Hotel, and March 30th , 2006 at the Garden Grove Marriott Anaheim Suites.

I went to the presentation on March 28th. 2006, at 12:30 pm. I went expecting to hear information listed on the Flyer I had received by three presenters, Sidney Sperry, John Hyland, and Randy Crane. Sidney Sperry and Randy Crane were there; presenting the program, however John Hyland was not.

I was promised, simply for attending?, a free CD by Robert Kiyosaki ?The Perfect Business?, which I never received. During the presentation I was promised if I got up and went to the back of the room at a specific time I would receive a ?bonus?, When I asked what it was no answer was forthcoming. I finally pushed the issue a couple of days later when I went to show a friend what they were offering at the ?same? presentation, at the Garden Grove, Anaheim Marriott. I was told, by Randy Crane, who was doing the presentation, as Sperry was not available, that I would get a 2nd free month hosting for the free website.

During the presentation I was promised I would get (1) a free investing software program, named R2D2 at the 3 day seminar, and (2) a free website with a free Merchant account, with a free shopping cart system for selling products on the internet. The hosting fees of $59.95 per month and monthly charges for the merchant account (which I didn't hear what they were) were talked about.

Upon reading the fine print on the contract, which I didn't realize I had even signed until April 21, 2006, I find some very disturbing things. I didn't realize I had signed up for the charges by signing up for the 3-day investment seminar.

I didn't realize I have to do very specific things to avoid charges being made in the future. I thought I was merely signing up for the 3-day seminar. I was told I could bring 3 guests who would also all receive the same free software and website with all the features. Thank god they didn't have credit card information for any of my guests or they would have to go through the same process of canceling and be mad as hell at me.

What I now have to do, to avoid the charges, is to notify them in writing, signed by myself, via CERTIFIED MAIL, return receipt requested, to ?MEMBER SERVICES, 5647 WELLS PARK RD STE B, WEST JORDAN, UT 84088, at least (30) days prior to the date of my monthly charge.? When that date is, is very elusive because of other language in the contract who's Terms and Conditions are stated on the back of folder I was given.

On that cover it talks about the Terms and Conditions, one of which is the ?EFFECTIVE DATE?. The effective date ?shall be ???. deemed the latter of the following: (a) the date The Company substantially completes the setup, activation, or creation of the CUSTOMER'S service or (b) the date the service is ordered, being the day after the scheduled 3 day workshop. MOST IMPORTANT POINT : Whether or not the CUSTOMER ever uses the service shall have no bearing or effect on the EFFECTIVE DATE.

It also talks about the TERM being a ?month to month basis until cancelled.? ?The TERM shall commence as of the EFFECTIVE DATE ,whatever that is, as I have no clue at this time.

Another statement of interest on this page concerns COROLLARY SERVICES. That statement being ?Use of e-mail lists for unsolicited electronic mail or other mass mailings is strictly prohibited.? One of the things you want to be able to do with an e-commerce website is to do e-mail mailings to notify your customers of specials, sales, and other promotions you make available to them. But this prohibits that!

About the 3-day INCOME STRATEGIES INSTITUTE workshop. I wrote this evaluation at the end of the first day and it held to be true thoughout.

At this 3-day workshop I find John Hyland to be a condescending smart-a*s jerk. If he had been at the original presentation, and acted the way he did, I would never have signed up to attend. He admits to being only 37 months into doing what he is doing. I have to assume he was associated with Randy Crane because of them both being in the telecommunications field. Randy presented himself in a very professional manner, however I did wonder why he was a ?desk flunky? at the presentation.

The remarks being made by John about how ?stupid and dumb? we will be if we don't' sign up for the advanced training are going to really piss me off. This is the same attitude I have heard so many times. These people belittle and ridicule people who don't buy the ?BS?. This is the very same method, and pressure techniques, used by Russ Whitney's people, in their Star Trader and Teach Me To Trade 3 day investing workshop they sell for $199 for two people. Almost like ?de ja vu? of having ?been there before?. I think Sperry even said he had been a student of Russ Whitney's Real Estate programs so it is not a total surprise.

During the first day of the 3-day seminar I have been told I could have had access to the website and the investing program during the last 3 weeks. That pisses me off since if the software program was what Sperry said it was I might not have invested $5,000 in a program to do investing that I heard about at the Wealth Expo.

When I tried to find the investing software program, on the two sites John told me I could get it on, I am unable to find one, and don't find it on the other, which is a redirected site for a Forex trading platform (broker in other words) named Advanced Forex, Inc. On their website they say ?NO DEALING DESK? but when I look under the ?Help & Support? link it has a link to their 24 hr. Dealing Desk. I won't use any Forex broker who has a dealing desk since I know they have the ability to see my stops and they spike their prices to take out stops, and they indeed do. Little did I know stockbrokers do the same thing!

Without even hearing about it I believe I already know what the presentation will be for the Tax Lien Certificate portion. We will be told some out and out lies to make us hope we can expect to get a property by just paying the taxes on the property in the Tax Lien Certificate process. We will be presented with the ?opportunity? to learn the process by attending a ?$3,000 class.? (turned out to be more) Anybody can get the same information on the Internet for less than $100. In fact I have two I already purchased. I have not done any of these because I don't have any capital to buy the tax liens. I know they are one of the safest investment tools available today, but you don't need this to do it.

I will not sign up for any additional classes for several reasons. They will be too expensive and I simply don't have the money to sign up for them. I know already they will tell me how stupid I am for not ?investing in myself? but all that will do is piss me off more and cause me to make negative statements about them as a company if anybody wants to know.

In this 3-day presentation John moves through what he presents so fast very few in the room will get anything more than that they have to invest in the advanced classes to get the detail they need to do any of the programs he is presenting. It is a high-pressure sales presentation by a slick-talking presenter who lacks credibility, in my view. Because he has only 37 months doing what he does, that is true, and many of the people in the room will see though the BS, but a lot will not. They will be sucked into spending many thousands of dollars for the advanced classes. I think this is Bait & Switch tactics, which are very questionable ethically. While not illegal they are immoral at the least. I don't participate in programs I find immoral, illegal or unethical.

In the end they will ask why did you attend this seminar?? The only reason I attended was to get the free software and the free websites. But I now find that this is all a ?scam?.

After the 3-day workshop:

After finishing the last two days my viewpoint is only stronger being directly insulted by John when I pointed out the training available at Fidelity.com. When he said what he did I nearly got up and punched the jerk, but with being 63, and him 20 years younger, that would not have been smart as he is a big man and I would have been in trouble, which he is not worth.

One endearing term John uses to describe people who are skeptical is CRAP MAGNET. How dare you question these people ?? With so many scams coming out of Utah and Florida you better question everything you hear presented by them. If this doesn't prove that point nothing does. This appears to me to be

In talking with several people in the seminar they didn't know they had signed up for a website with the incurred cost of $59.95 per month (possibly more). They thought they had simply paid for a 3 day seminar just like I did. I challenge you people (Sid Sperry) to e-mail each and every one of them to inform them of that fact. One lady I told about it got so upset she was crying. She went back and got in Sid Sperry's face about it. I don't know what the outcome of that was since I didn't get to talk with her anymore then but will via e-mail. Will Sid notify the people? Want to place any bets?

At the end of the workshop they offer another ?program? by SUREFIRE Health & Wealth. This will be presented at various locations, one being on May 10th. at the Marriott Anaheim Suites, 12015 Harbor Blvd. You can see their schedule at their website which I'm sure you can figure out using ?surefirehealth?.

This is a multi-level marketing scheme (scam?) similar to others like Amway, Melaluka, Mary Kay, Noni Juice etc. Whether or not their products are any good you will need to determine for yourself, but I was given a bottle of their Ultra PR17 to try, at the presentation for the INCOME STATEGIES INSTITUTE. I took the three capsules recommended for three weeks. I see NO difference in my joint pain or any other health issues. I am reasonably sure you can find much cheaper ?medicine? of the same type. I tried TAHITIAN NONI? Juice several years ago with no effect I could see either. It is touted as being a ?magic potion? as well, similar to this companies XoCo Matte (chocolate)

I am the same David who has posted information here about both Globaltec and Premieretrade. Somebody would do a lot of people a giant favor if they would go warn them when these people come to town to do a PRESENTATION. INCOME STATEGIES INSTITUTE here as well.

John will have a real reason to call me a CRAP MAGNET since I seem to attract a lot of ?crappy? (scam/scum?) companies.

My good experience with ISI

AUTHOR: Anonymous In California - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 25, 2008

Wow. I am shocked to read about all these negative experiences. I'll try to keep this brief.

I am a graduate of ISI and was completely satisfied with my experience. I paid 20k for four courses that my son and I both attended. That breaks down to about $2500. per course per person. When you consider that the courses ran for a year, with webinars three nights a week for three weeks per month, as well as the live classes in various locations, the cost is comparable to other courses offered out there. Now, I hasten to add that I did all this back in 2005 but IT CHANGED MY LIFE! I was DETERMINED to get this stuff under my belt and I did. Sure the books were not their long suit and the online things were rocky from time to time, but I felt like they were going through growing pains. At times patience was required but in the end they kept all their promises to me. They inspired me, constantly. I bought supplemental books on the subjects of technical analysis and option strategies. It took me a full year of learning and complete dedication but they got me through it. The live courses/mentoring were excellent and a good excuse to get on a plane and have a few days away. After the year of learning I spent a year of paper trading and gradually made my way into live trading and I now am trading every day as a business and continuing to learn as my experiences (both good and bad) make me a stronger, more nimble trader. Finally my profits are far outweighing my losses as I have learned how to hedge positions (using delta, gamma etc..). I capped the whole experience off with the asset protection course,.. went to Las Vegas (got to write the trip off!), and have now set up an LLC to trade through. ISI provided an excellent foundation for me to grow on and I couldn't be happier. Finding them was a blessing that changed the course of my life. I'm sorry, as well as saddened to read about your disappointment with them. I found all of the people within ISI to have integrity and an honest desire to pass along their knowledge.

My son is now successfully trading futures and forex based on the knowledge he began acquiring through Income Strategies.

Apart from being an alumni I have no connection with them, do not and have not been employed by them or in any other way stand to gain by expressing these opinions.

Ahem.

AUTHOR: Sasha - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 21, 2008

Here are a few things I would like to suggest to those who are having a 'hard time' with ISI/GRSR:

1. When you sign a contract, you agree to the terms. The terms are clearly stated on each contract.
You have three business days to cancel and receive a refund. If you wait until after those three days, you will not get a refund. Pretty simple.
You might also have checked the 'yes' box for the real estate toolbox website. If so, after thirty days you will be charged $59.95/month for the service.
Contracts do not care if you 'didn't realize that you checked that box,' or if 'nobody told you that you only had three days.' It is YOUR fault. YOU signed it. Nobody forced you, nobody 'tricked' you. The fact of the matter is, you had a choice, and you clearly chose to sign up for something you couldn't pay for and then thought, 'oh if I change my mind, I'll just back out.' Educate yourself on Contract Law, please.
2. Ever wonder why everybody who complains on here mentions that they are disputing with their credit card company, or have disputed, and the cc company isn't investigating, or that ISI/GRSR won? Hmm wonder why that is happening? oh. maybe its because of the CONTRACT.
3. ISI/GRSR offers 'Customer Service' not 'Customer Support.' They are not there to make YOU money. They are there to answer questions you have about classes, procedures, contact information, etc.
4. As with any company, you cannot call and speak with the company owner. For those of you who complain about not being able to talk to Sidney, you're ridiculous and obviously think you are much more important than you are.
5. The sales people on the road are ON THE ROAD. They are not in the corporate office. For you to call in and request to speak with them is assanine. If they haven't already given you their personal number, they obviously do not want to talk to you. Who do you think you are?
6. When you sign the contract, you agree to the cancellation terms. These clearly state that you will be required to send a cancelltion letter via certified mail within three business days of signing the contract. If you feel that you wont be able to comply with these terms, don't sign the contract. You also agree to accept that any refund will take 15-30 BUSINESS days to process. Don't whine about the interest on your credit card and say that the company isnt giving you your money back. Sit down, shut up, and wait until the terms that YOU AGREED TO are fulfilled.
7. Lots of people send letters to the BBB and the Attorney General and their Lawyers. You are not the first and you do not scare the company with your empty threats.

Have a lovely day.

Response to all who posted !!

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 28, 2007

Abbey:

I have already responded to her post but I would love to have some of those people she mentioned contact me and tell me about their experiences with other teaching companies. I have looked at probably 20 different ones. There is an adage Those who can do, those who can't, teach. Sure seems to fit the investing industry to a T. As Terry Savage told me if it was that good they would be sitting on their Yachts doing it, not trying to sell you a method through this means.

Russ:

As I said in my post about Surefire ... go read the other posts about ISI and see what others have to say, and if you are going to respond address the issues and forget the personal attacks. The same kind of tactics used in the 3-day seminar I might add. The only way us consumers have of dealing with companies that are rip-off's is to warn others about them though this kind of media, which thankfully is there. All I did was tell what happened to me and warned others to take a close look before they buy. I have tried different things over the last 10 years. From Pre-paid phone cards to products such as Surefire. The worst company I ever came across was Home Business Group, also out of Salt Lake. Hundreds of people put up websites just to warn others about them they were so bad. The Federal Trade Commission even put one of the companies associated with them out of business for a while. The problem with any MLM is that you have to recruit people you know.... i.e. family and friends. Then you have a whole lot your family upset at you and your friends are no longer your friends. It is a Ponzi scheme to say the least, just like Social Security. The same reason chain letter schemes fail .. these do to.

Mason:

All I went to the seminar for was to get the free stuff promised. I did want the R2D2 "investment program", not their classes. If the program did what they said, it sounded like a good one. I had been looking at others that are a total waste of money. I knew what the classes would be. The same as, Teach Me To Trade and Star Trader. It was amazing how close the price structure was. I almost think they are one and the same.

I also did want to hear the stuff about real estate. When I went to check with Wells Fargo Bank about the "Master Transfer Account" they didn't have a clue at two of their branch offices. I managed to make contact with a guy in Salt Lake at their home office who had some knowledge but he was not any help so I forgot about all that. And further, as I said about the Tax Lien stuff, you can get programs on the internet to do that for less than $100 and they indeed are one of the safest investing programs that pays a decent amount.

Marcus:

Like you, I didn't realize I had already signed up for the web hosting either. I hope you cancelled it and would love to know. It's too bad we can't put our email address on here so we can get in contact with others who have complaints but they don't allow that.

The problem with trying to sell stuff on the Internet is the sheer amount of competition. With all the people on eBay, Stores Online, etc, you will be very lucky if you make a dime. Remember one of the first, iMall? Not only does Stores OnLine promote selling but they promote their program as a MLM.

Kathleen:

I believe I was charged for at least one month of web-hosting and charges from Card Services for the merchant account. However I was never able to track that to be absolutely sure. I cancelled my credit card for that very reason, so I couldn't be billed for anything further. I am not lying at all about anything. This whole thing was a giant scam to say the least. Like I said to Russ, this is the only way we consumers have to warn others and thankfully we do.

As for your contract, put it in the form of a contract not on the back of a folder where you don't even know it is there until later when you have time to go through the material and read the fine print. You are certainly right though... read the contract .. in fact have your lawyer read it!! If people did that, you people would not make a single sale at these presentations. You are relying on peoples gullibility, which makes you dishonest.

Mason:

I see you are not so happy and probably think I was right?

Dean:

Are you saying that R2D2 is actually Metastock? If so why didn't they tell us that in the seminar? Metastock is a good program but not one I am interested in. I am assuming you are talking about a specific investing seminar not the 3-day thing that John Hyland did. Again I do say these people are immoral, if not illegal, and certainly unethical. Those are the three tests you apply to decide if you should be involved with them or any person.

When it's all said and done Russ Whitney's 2-hr.introduction was the most honest. They tell you right up front you are paying $198 (for two people) as an introduction because they know enough people will sign up for their advanced training that they can afford to put the 3-day class on. However the three-day class is a 3-day sales pitch, for the most part, to promote their $50,000 training programs. And also consider if 200 people attend at $99 each .. that is a mere $19,800. I would think enough to pay for an instructor, of John Hylands quality certainly, and the room costs.

Kathleen:

I have no further comment on your last post to Mason. I would have to see the proof of that to believe it.

I do have a final comment for now though. Why did it take any of you people more than six months to respond to my post in as much as I notified ISI, HB Products and Sure Fire Health via email when I posted it in April of 2006 and May of 2006?

I work for HB Products, as stated above, my reply is to Mason of The Dalles, Oregon...

I was just wondering if you bothered to tell anyone on this website that not only did you sign up once with HB Products, but you signed up twice.

When we recieved your cancellation letter we closed your account unaware that you had two & wanted to close both, your letter did not state this.

As soon as you contacted our company we immediately refunded you what was charged to your second account. It would be nice if you would state the facts not just your opinion.

Thank you,

Davids response to ISI.

AUTHOR: Dean - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 01, 2007

Since my friend and I both attended the three day conference we both agree that Davids coments appear to be wrong.

My friend had done months of training for Options and we both agree that this seminar was the best one we have attended.ISI are their to help those who do Options for instance when to buy or sell options at the right time. The $59.00 per month for example is to keep you up dated on the charts you receive so you know when to buy or sell. MetaStock is what you get.

David says they are IMMORAL. Nothing could be further from the truth. THEY ARE NOT IMMORAL.

Their program could be similar to others but so what. It is the service you get what makes the difference. We feel that ISI is performing a good service

Davids comments come from gossip, rumors and false accusations. Most of what he says we feel are untrue.

I work for HB Products Unlimited and wanted to comment only on our portion of the complaint from David from Tustin.

HB Products Unlimited offers a site preloaded with over 1,000 products to help you start an at home business. The first 30 days are free after that your hosting starts and there is a monthly fee of $59.95.

We set clients up only after they have completed an activation form, signed the agreement and provided their credit card for an imprint. David signed up in April of 06 and later canceled in May of 06 and according to our database Dave, you were never charged by HB Products.

I think it is unfair that you are lying to the general public about something you probably don't fully understand.

We are instructed at a young age to read a contract before signing it. I suggest you do so in the future to prevent other companies from being wrongly accused.

Thank you

Can anyone who has used this system please explain if you ever made money or loss money on it? I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about this. More insight on this will be helpful....Thanks!

POSTED: Sunday, November 12, 2006

Mr. David how do you know its a complete rip off when you did not try any further classes? I don't think your opinion can count until you take more.

I took a 3 day workshop for 20 bucks earlier in the week and I think I saw the 2 employees that posted on your question. any how I found the work shop very useful but still lacking, yet i expected that, do you really think they are just going to tell you every thing? i think not. but they do tell you enough to start (i was there for the stock market not real-estate) and i do believe i will do ok when i start trading in a week or so. also if i get enough money in the next month or so i do plan on taking more stock classes from then. all though MR. Lee Dotson who spook was kind of a butt like the guy at your seminar was...don't ya think that there may be a reason for that? as for them talking about surefire health...i have no interest in that so i didn't listen and the only reason i thought of joining it was because the big guy they had talking said he would send you a work out program and meal plan...kind of wish i spent 100 bucks just for those 2 things lol!

as for you 2 staff members, you 2 really cant say any thing. being members of the staff its not expected of you 2 to ever say any thing bad about ISI.

so yeah...Dave i say try one class and then give a full report and if you don't i will when i take my class in a month or so.

Dave,
I remember you. How could I forget you. The Human excuse machine(AKA Lazy Dave). We did our best to help you and now because you are broke and learning disabled you(Dave) are spending a lot of time on this website(and other sites I'm sure). Dave it does not help you to try and trash a company that helps thousands of people turn around their lives forever. Get a hobby, spend time at the beach or in the gym and stop talking trash without any proof or evidence. Give others a chance to change and a great company the chance to help them.
Sincerely RUSS ANDERSON ISI STAFF

QUICK RESPONSE TO ABBY

Dear Abby,

Hmmmm, does that sound familar or what? Why did it take you more than 6 months to post a rebuttal to my posting? Was it that hard to put your words on your computer?

First off I am not looking for anything but honesty, and this company is certainly not honest. I was lied to about everything. If you think they are honest all I can say is you are too stupid to see the truth. You have no idea why I didn't buy the classes except what I said in my post on here. And as for your "suggestions" I could tell you where to put those too, and I suspect you know where I would say to, and you are right!

What I said was all true, and if not I'm sure they would have filed a lawsuit against me.

Dave

He is looking for something FREE....

This person obviously is looking for EVERYTHING to be handed to them!

I work for the best education company out there. Income Strategies Institute . The owner of this company takes great care of the students.

This person did not buy Advanced classes because they did not have the money. They seem to know all of these other education companies WELL. Which means instead of going to a job or making money they sit in seminars.Wanting a company to give them the golden key to prosperity without any effort.

To you who wrote this I wish you the best. I suggest that you stop going to seminars and do the 9-5. To have the wealth you need to have the right attitude.

By the way if you still want the free cds you can call the office and they will mail you them for free. I have worked the OC events and they are usually 200 or more. So you probably didnt get one because we ran out(guests and all we dont know exact numbers).

There are some similarities between the education companies. The difference with ours is we have quite a few students who come from those other education companies and actually learn from US after paying both companies.
If you would like to talk to them. We can have them make a posting.

So here is to the future. For your families sake don't go to any other seminars.Add up all those $100,$200 or whatever you pay and you could have some decent savings.Good luck.
