I was introduced to this company in late 2008, and at first, I was really skeptical about everything since I had been warned that MLM companies are like pyramid scams. However, it was a friend that was a relatively successful broker telling me that joining this company would be the fast track to success.

I went to Business Presentation Meetings (BPM), early morning boot camps, trying to learn as much as I could about the financial services industry, even got my Insurance License within a few weeks of joining. Apparently an insurance license didn't help me along my fast track to success. There were so many obstacles, so many conventions, and time away from my family that I spent chasing this dream of financial freedom, and in the end nothing.

So much information was withheld, the licensing fees are expensive, the E&O insurance was more money, the conventions to Las Vegas was also expensive, waiting on appointment from Aviva was time consuming and again more money. Buying a dumb calculator, more money. The join up costs were made to seem minimal but you really had to have a lot of money to even get yourself started, and I didn't have that kind of money to even see if it would pay off. But, I'm not alone many people I met and kept in touch with just saw themselves throwing away money on IFA and never seeing the payoff. And then the loan modifications, poor people being duped into paying for these outrageous fees to "retain a lawyer" when programs were in placed that did it for free. It was just a nightmare, and I have a guilty conscience for ever being a part of it.

All that knowledge, no action. All that money, no results? Please.

Simply put, you didn't really apply what you were taught.  That's why you didn't make money.

Now I've been in the company for about 5 months now, and I'm in it full time.  I quit my full-time job for this.  And I'm doing fine.

So what's the difference between me and you?  I guess I applied the knowledge I received, and I applied it.  I helped families save money.  I educated people who didn't understand how money worked.  What did you do?

Badger the company for your failure.

I'm sorry, but when people go to college for a better education, are they guaranteed a job?  If they can't find a job, do they blame the educational system?  You haven't tried enough man.

Many people you kept in touch with just saw themselves throwing money away at themselves, not on IFA.

I'll tell you what, I'll help you and those people who left make some money if you take off the report.

Poor You

I also was introduced to this company in late 2008 and I also was very skeptical about everthing. MLM companies are hard to trust but like you, the writer, I was intrigued by success story by my business collegue. The business model was similar to other financial companies. I also tried very hard, getting myself educated and licensed. I don't think it was expensive to get through insurance licensing because that is what everyone pays to the state of california to get licensed. I do feel sympathetic toward your experience though. Perhaps you are not familiar with financial industry and perhaps your dreaming exceeded your action to achieve your dream. I don't think sucess is for everyone but I think you would agree with me that the opportunity this company gives is open to everyone. What you think expensive is way inexpensive for many industry people. In the end, all the seminars and conventions you go is for your own personal growth. For the merge account, I was not asked to do anything so I guess you are entitled to your own feeling. I did see the income as I worked but I'm no longer with the company. I too had loan modification done and I know the company was a victim as well. I had 3 conferences with the owners and they returned my money when they were not legally responsible for refund. I know. Judge said that. I just thought it was not fair to corner a growing company with your personal experience. There are many hard working people still working toward their dream, I don't think you or I should hinder their path.
