INFOMATIKA PUBLICATIONS ripoff Called to verify my business address and listing in directory for $349 Champlain New York

A women called (with a British-Indian accent ) to verify my business address and listing in a directory. The women claimed that someone at my company signed a contract with her for a buisness listing, and that they were verifying my company information from last year's issue, to continue on for this year's issue, which was to be sent to me. As I am a one person business, I knew this was not so.

I indicated that I did not want a directory sent to me and would not be financially responsible for anything sent to me. She indicated that I was committed by contract to pay for the directory, and since I indicated that I was not going to pay, she would turn this over to a collections agency. I told her that I was the president of the company and would look forward to seeing her enforce a contract that I never signed in a court of law. She continued talking and I hung up.

In my case I found Infomatika's number by simply dialing #69 and performing a Google search. I then found this great website reporting similar instances of other people from whom this company tried to steal money. I then went to the FTC's website and filed a complaint; go to https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU02 to file a complaint.
