Innovative Health Systems - Filter Queen Deceptive sales practices, unprofessional salesperson and untrained Forest Lake, Minnesota

We received a scratch off card in the mail. The card stated that winners were awarded various prizes up to $10,000. We had a pretty good idea from the card that we were going to be sold something but my wife wanted to give it a shot.

She called the phone number on the card and was able to speak with an individual who stated that someone would come by to demonstrate some sort of air quality system for us. The person stated that it would take 30-90 minutes.

Ashley, the salesperson, arrived Monday night for the appointment late. She proceeded to set up an air filter device in the kids room (which smelled like cigarette smoke). We are not and have never been smokers. The filter being used smelled like smoke and made the room smell like smoke. Anyway, she sat down in our kitchen and proceeded to read word for word, literally, and this is no exaggeration, for 35 minutes straight from disheveled papers. They were studies and news articles about air quality...yada yada yada. At no time did she stop and at no time did she even care to get to know us or ask any meaningful questions. 

She then proceeded to the demonstration of a vacuum cleaner product (oh, wait, I was rudely corrected a few times that it is in fact a "surface cleaner"). So fast forward to the best part. After all the good times we sat down and she showed us the price. $2800 for the vacuum cleaner and $1200 for the filter system! I had enough. I stated clearly that I would never pay that price for her products. At this point she became very rude and hostile towards us (in my own home)! She questioned how much we loved our children to how much we value their health etc etc. Instead of being rude back I called her out on it. I told her that's a fine way to try to sell a product to someone. despite her horrible presentation, despite her complete lack of knowledge about her product or our family situation, her rudeness alone would have tanked the sale.

Come to find out she has only been on the job for a month and was not trained in sales at all. She was given the product information and sent out. She stated that the longest tenured sales person in her office had only been there for a few months. Wow. I'm in sales and this was crazy! She also stated that she is required to do 90 minute sessions. So why would someone tell my wife 30-90 minutes? While on the phone with her boss Jeremy at the end of the sale she was just a rude to us. This outfit is horrible. She even had the gall to ask if we would give her names of friends and family that she could show the product to. I will say this for their advertising....they have found someone who will at every turn advise against this company or its products for the rest of my life. If word of mouth advertising is best...they just found a guy not afraid to warn as many people as possible.
