Do NOT be fooled by this company. I applied for a sales agent position. At the time, I was told (and other new hires confirmed they were told the same thing) I would receive $650 per month for leads and other marketing of my choosing. Leads that they provided through rip-off companies (wrong phone numbers, not at that address, etc.) often could not be disputed, so a waste of money. If you wanted to do creative marketing, well it had to be pre-approved first. And if you did not waste your time on these rip-off phone leads,in their office, you were not considered a "team player" and not trying to get business. So I call a free lead provided (it was over one year old) and the prospect said she was still interested in getting health insurance. For new agents, the "sales leader" is suppose to go with you on your first appointment. My sales leader decided he did not want to go so he told me to get a senior agent(who wanted part of the commission) to go with me. The prospect was 90 miles away and I drove my car(i.e., totally "free" sale for this senior agent). When we arrive, this agent copped an attitude with the prospect and told her he would not sell to her because her husband was not there (nothing in the company said it was forbidden to sell in this case, he just took it upon himself to ruin the appointment for me. Besides the fact this was potential sexual discrimination claim with the CA Dept. of Insurance). So I joined a networking group my sales leader recommended ($500, but to be reimbursed through my "lead money"). So I am struggling with no sales but it demanded I attend "beginner training" (I have over 10 years experience in insurance). The "training" is very basic and really a waste of time. The presenters act as if the agents are six years old. One of the trainings was given by a "top producer" and did a webinar. His tips? Put on car signs. (Check, already did that). Wear the jersey(meaning wear something to promote your business). (Check, I am already wearing a company polo shirt I bought). Final tip? Watch "The Pursuit of Happyness". (I am outa here!!) I finally get another appointment from the networking group. Meet the prospect and her husband 70 miles from my home and by myself. I sell my first health insurance policy, text my sells leader and agency manager. Sells leader gives very vague instructions on how to complete application online. Struggled with his vague instructions and when I call him to clarify, he gets upset with me. I continue struggling trying to get my first sale finalized and after many attemps, finally do it on my own. I was seriously considering calling the prospect to tell her to forget about the new application but didn't. Instead I went to the office and attempted to have a rational discussion with the agency manager and advised him I felt I needed additional training for submitting applications. The agency manager immediately tried to turn it around and make it my fault, then he said "This is not going to work out". I told him I agreed(but told him in no uncertain terms what I thought about him in my resignation email he wanted that was also sent to company headquarters). And for that "reimbursement" for joining the recommended networking group I paid $500? They reimbursed me $59. That's right. Fifty nine dollars for a five hundred dollar investment.
