I don't know exactly how I will completely explain this but here it goes.

Sept. 2014, my husband decided to get a loan using our truck for collateral. He was offered somewhere around $2400. We were behind in bills because my husband was in a car accident that cause him permenant damage to his back. He was denied disability because of his income previous to applying and most days he worked, he did not work a full day.

Each month from Oct. to Mar 2015 no less than $380 was due & paid by the 10th of every month. We thought that with us paying close to $400 for those 5 months, we would have brought the amount down by $1900.We could understand why the payments were so high still and the balance was still at $1800...So I decided to go with him so I could get a better understand of exactly what we were paying for.

The lady proceeded to tell us that there was some type of insurance on the vehicle, there was insurance on the money lent to my husband ($172/month), insurance on the truck if repairs were needed (optional coverage), and because we were only paying the minimum, the balance barely decreased. According to the lady, we were not paying toward the balance if we did not pay over the minimum payment required. This meant that all the payments we made weren't made toward the balance. (We stopped paying over the balance in April 2015) Oh, not to mention that every month, we were charged $25 for them to check the credit of my husband. And we weren't allowed to pay online. Everytime we needed to make a payment, we had to come in to sign new paperwork. Each set of paperwork showed different amounts and just didn't make sense. Some paperwork included paperwork from previous months we came in to sign new paperwork as if they were purposely included in the paperwork to confuse us. We honestly don't know what we owe. Still doesn't make sense except these people know what they are doing.

All in all, this means that no matter how long it takes, we would have to continue to pay this large monthly payment and if we did not pay extra on top of what was expected, any payments we made would not go toward our balance. We will be paying this forever...wait no we won't. We have to give our truck up now. We can no longer afford the payment or the insurance we personally have for the truck.

This should be illegal for loan and finance companies to take advantage of people like my husband and I. They have this company located in a typically poor area in our county and they use their services to fraud people out of their money. The ladies that work there have no sympathy for anyone and from the looks it, most employees aren't happy there unless they don't mind taking advantage of folks. How can this be legal??

So the company put a gun to your head and made you their money?  And you obviously don't read what you sign. Funny how consumers blame companies for their financial mistakes
