An Instant Tax Service opened up near my home. I met the owner and he seemed like a pretty decent guy. I needed to file my taxes, so I thought that I would give them a try and help his business out a little. When the Instant Tax Service opened, the office was always opened and there were always people there.

I wanted to claim my new car for the tax credit on my taxes, the girl didn't even know how to report it. She ended up putting the wrong amount and told me that my tax refund would be about 6k. But at the time, I didn't know she had done my taxes wrong. Also, she told me that my fee was going to be around five hundred dollars. I thought that was a little high but decided to have them process the paper anyways.

I was told that I would be receiving my check within two weeks. Two weeks came by, no call from Instant Tax Services. I called and called and couldn't reach anybody in the office. Four weeks went by and I received a letter from the IRS, saying that Instant Tax Service had done my taxes wrong and that i would only receive around 900 dollars.

I tried calling Instant Tax Services and going to the office but apparently, they went out of business. The building now belongs to someone else and I can't reach the owner to yell at him for doing my taxes wrong!

I was furious. What was suppose to take two weeks and turned into a 2 month wait.. and they still charged me 500 dollars fee!! I called and talked to corporate and asked why are they still charging me 500 dollars when the girl did my taxes wrong in the first place!! So, the outcome, I'm only getting 400 back but haven't received my money. I wished I had gone to (((competitors' names redacted)))!! they would have not charged an arm and a leg!!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
