International Academy Of Design And Technology They Got Me For $300! Chicago Illinois

Well, I thought the school sounded pretty cool so I signed up. I was very sure to emphasize to my admissions rep and financial aid rep that i DID NOT have my high school diploma or GED yet, I was scheduled to take the GED test. I was told that it was not a problem and I could sign up anyway. I thought that was pretty awkward, but I signed up. I kept asking my admissions rep during the long process of enrolling and applying for the Sallie Mae loan what would happen if I were to not pass my GED test. I asked several times and she simply went around the question, telling me to just be positive. I wasn't trying to be negative, just realistic. The school had me go through the enrollment, orientation, and made me buy expensive books and an over-priced art kit. I had class for about a week before my results were in from my GED testing....I failed the math portion. I was told I could no longer attend classes and had to re-take the test. OKay. I understand that it was my fault for failing, but then the school started calling me and sending me bills for the books. I told them many, many times that I didn't have my GED yet, so why was I allowed to begin classes and buy books without having it? I asked one of the other reps if this happens to many students and she said yes! the school puts someone through this crap every quarter! Now collections is calling me about $300 in books and fees. It was a horrible experience. The school is more interested in enrolling students and getting money than actual education.
