I called and cancelled my membership to msn hotmail as my service provider had changed to dsl service. I thought it was taken care of but now my daughter is being charged and has been charged since 2004 on occasion for a service that was cancelled.

After reading your site I realize I am not the only one this has happened to. I know we should have caught these charges much earlier, however it is easy to miss a credit card payment of 21.95. And I am sure it wasn't constant or we would have caught it before now. I did not authorize them to charge for anything after updating my info to the new service I continued to keep the FREE hotmail acct. Apparently they had other ideas and continued to charge for another service.

I am angry after reading the entry on your site from an ex employee of MSN only to find out they make a habit of doing this..... THEY MUST BE STOPPED AND ALL MONIES RETURNED TO THOSE IMPACTED BY THIS!

Hopefully there is an attorney out there that would take a case such as this on. It is not right for a company as big as MSN to take advantage of consumers this way and get away with it...It is just THEFT and should be punishable by law.

SAME THING WAS DONE TO ME BY MICROSOFT MSN HOTMAIL

and whatever else that huge corporation call themselves. It's the same company, no matter what they say. I signed up for a free Hotmail account. What Microsoft does is get your credit card number when you sign up for the supposedly free e-mail account.

For years, there was no problem. Then, in 2006, I was frozen out of my Hotmail by Microsoft Hotmail. They said I had to pay 19.95 and that my alloted space was 100% full and . This is a lie!! It was 13% full. I was extorted. Either pay the $20 or never be able to e-mail nor see the e-mails you have received!

After paying the $20 online, which was another violation by Microsoft Hotmail because I have a personal policy against dealing online or buyng online, I found that I still had 13% space!!! After their bullying and extortion, I was not given extra space! In 2007, Microsoft Hotmail committed the same nefarious stealing. Though they eventually credited my credit card, they still have not refunded my money for 2006.

What to do and what I have learned the hard way: if you give or have to give your credit card number or debit card number to anyone, go to your bank and have your card destroyed. Get the bank to issue you a new card.
