I'm going to try and attach a couple pictures of my network closet per my HughesNet Installation on 1/23/07. Both phone lines in the house are going to ground since this installation and I am going to have to pay AT&T or another company to fix my phone lines, clean up the network closet wiring mess and do about 50 feet of trenching. I can't believe I had to pay an extra $100 to have the HughesNet Installer come out to get 3 additional data jacks functioning which took about 30 minutes and should have been completed on the original installation. When I asked if they were going to finish cleaning up the closet and fix the phone lines, the installer said they were going to charge me $100 per hour. I already got stuck for about $1300 and the internet does not even work! I have to reset the modem constantly and lose the transmit and receive signal sporadically everyday for the last 60 days. The most frustrating thing is that I told the installers I wanted microwave instead of satellite from day one. The installer kept saying he would have his manager come out to see if that was a viable option. The manager finally showed up after the installation was 95% completed. So the installer said I could return the equipment from HughesNet for a refund of $300 within 30 days. I had already payed over $1200 before I found out that the microwave system that I wanted all along would have only cost $399! So it's taken me 60 days to figure out what to do and when I called HughesNet today to inquire ask about canceling their service, they said they charge an early termination fee of $700 if the account is canceled after 30 days! I don't see how this can be since the installation has never even been finished and it's going to cost me thousands to fix the mess they made. To make matters worse, every time I call HughesNet Customer Service to get a technician to fix my transmit/receive signal problem, they just walk me through all these diagnostics and tell me to install a newer version of java, empty my cache, or some other asinine thing that doesn't work.
