Interstate did the same thing to a previous repair we needed.  The motor fans and blades needed to be replaced.  Interstate would only replace the fan motors and used an exclusion in the policy not to pay for the blades and rest of the repair. We had to complain to manager due to our dealer refusing to replace the fan motors with out the new blades being replaced too.  Finally, Interstate allowed the blades to be included.  

Now Interstate's claim representative denied a Valid claim on engine by using YET another exclusion "k" in their policy.  The car was brought in 01/30/2013, their inspector showed up 02/18/2013 did his report and Interstate refused to pay claim due to air intake that was added on 01/15/2013.  Our Dealer explained for 25 minutes that air intake was for better milage and had been on for 15 days only and absolutely would not cause the major repair needed to the lower part of engine.  Air would not be the cause of damage and should be paid.  This was $2,700.00 repair Interstate's claims representative refused to pay out.  Interstate shows a pattern of denying repairs and if you don't fight back they win.  It is not fair and it is taking advantage of people my husband is handicapped and on a fixed income.  I explained that to the manager who didn't really care!
