Intuit Quick Books Pro Upgrade Blackmail- forced to upgrade software or I will no longer be able to use features I have already paid for Mountain View California

*Consumer Comment: Many software companies are doing this now (even though it isn't right)

Intuit Greed
as posted on Ituit's community board

I refuse to be black mailed by these Intuit bastards any more. I will never buy another product from them ever again and I will tell everyone I know, how Intuit blackmails people into upgrading their software. I can understand suspending support for older versions of QB but disabling KEY( Bill pay,Credit card downloader Employee organizer, Merchant service Online banking, Online billing, Standard payroll, Enhanced payroll, Assisted payroll , Support plans and services) features on those versions is ridiculous and more importantly; leaves me no choice but to upgrade the software.

I bought a 2005 Ford truck and I am thinking about upgrading to a 2008. It sure is nice to know I have a choice. I didn't get a letter from Ford saying they will know longer work on my 2005 if it has problems, or that I have to buy a 2008 truck or my air-conditioning, heater, power-steering and headlights will no longer work on my vehicle. Can you imagine? I know most of the people here have already gotten QB 2008 but please reconsider and return it and avoid this BS two years from now when you are the one being blackmailed. The only way they will stop this unfair (if not illegal)business practice is if their sales go down or they have thousands of people returning their product. read more here http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/330/RipOff0330730.htm

With annual licensing needed for corporate environments, to what I've seen lately is the home financial software where the new components won't work after 2 years, forcing you to buy the latest.

But Intuit has been doing things like this for a long time; one of the reasons I stopped using TurboTax a while back.
