Why would you lead a customer to believe that Circuit City could resolve their manufacturer's rebate issue? You told this person to take their problem to a Circuit City associate who would fix it. WRONG!

A customer purchased an item that came with a manufacturer's rebate. The customer is now having a problem collecting the rebate.

CALL THE MANUFACTURER!!! Any associate at Circuit City will have no idea as far as the rebate goes. It is time for people to start taking resposibility for their actions.

You buy an item with a rebate-you are simply giving up your personal information. You do not have a right to b***h to the retailer if you do not receive your rebate. Call the manufacturer. Otherwise- stop being so Goddamned cheap!

#5 Consumer Suggestion

So you have not received a manufacturer's rebate.

Call the manufacturer and complain. If you get no satisfaction and spend nights thinking about this, call the Better Business Bureau. Someone actually advised the customer to call the store the item was bought. What in the hell do you expect this company to do? This is a MANUFACTURERS REBATE.

The customer must follow all guidelines when submitting a rebate. If the manufacturer does not respond, call the manufacturer.

Complain, organize a protest, but do not go to the store at which you purchased your merchandise.

Rebates are nothing but scams to get your personal information. Companies will do anything to not pay you- lost mail-they won 't pay you. Late mail- no deal. Didn't follow the exact written word- no money. Stop being so stupid in giving out your personal info. for five bucks. Rebate issue- call the manufacturer to get your five bucks.

Do not share your personal info.- priceless! For those who cannot read, I will try this one more time- send in for a rebate, you have a 50/50 chance of receiving it. "They" on the other hand have your name/address/phone number. Priceless, eh?

Not CCs Fault

AUTHOR: Calvin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 24, 2003

So, you are blaming Circuit City for a rebate that was offered from the MANUFACTURER? Think about it...CC is not the manufacturer. I/O Magic is the one responsible for the rebate, NOT CC. If you need help with the rebate, go to your local Circuit City and explain the problem, if there are courteous people working there that are willing to help, they will more than likely be able to come to a decision that will satisfy you.
